Happy earth day! Kill a tree, read a newspaper, burn it with some old tires, then throw the ashes away.

Remember to honor the high priest of the Earth Day cult, Ira Einhorn. Fortunately, he is back from France. To face charges that he murdered his girlfriend and kept her corpse in a box in his closet for a year. See, he was serious about recycling!

3000 children per day die from malaria and 90% are in sub-saharan Africa. How come this isn't taken up by the racism watchdogs?

Oh yeah. My little one is having an Earth Day picnic at school today. I so want to boycott it, but she begged me to come so she wouldn't be stuck sitting with the teachers.
I plan on packing thick meaty sandwiches, chips, pop, and everything else they want to ban. I'm also bringing her 16 brother. I'll try and talk him out of wearing that "Cradle of Filth" tee shirt ;-) Maybe his Motorhead shirt is clean...

"Today marks the convergence of the two stupidest liberal assaults on America in the past 40 years: * Earth Day (thanks, Environut whackjobs!) and * Take-Your-Kid-To-Work Day (thanks, Radical feminists!)"Earth Day happens to fall on my birthday, which means we typically celebrate with live garden plants. I like that just fine.
My kids reminded me this morning about take-your-kid to work day. They are off school early today because of conferences, so I suggested they could join me doing housework when they got home. They didn't like that idea too much - said they'd rather have play dates. Smart kids.

Good find.
REAL environmentalism is a stewardship of teh land, i.e. thinning deer herds and controlling bear populations, removal of deadwood to prevent burning down an entire state with wild hyper-fires.
Not that any of the eco-terrorists care about the above.
None of them truly care about nature at all.
They care more about control, controlling others to their narrow views and preserving certain places (Like Yellowstone) for only their selected elite.
Gasoline engines can be made more efficient without sacrificing power or vehicle size.
Problem is, everything they attempt to do to create a working tech out of that gets socked with so many restrictions andregulations as to make it not worth pursuing financially.
(Anyone see andy gas turbine engines anywhere? How about ceramic based engines? They'd be mre fuel efficient due to their nature of burning fuel at higher temperatures and being able to do so without having to have a radiator under the hood. After playing around with them for awhile, all major car manufacturers seemingly have given up on them.)

This points up the great irony of Ralphie Nader's career: the "consumer advocate" who wanted small, "unsafe at any speed" cars like the VW Bug and Pinto banned, has morphed into "environmental advocate" Nader - who wants Americans to drive around in small, unsafe at any speed cracker boxes.

Anyone see and gas turbine engines anywhere? There's a bunch of 'em over in Iraq ... the down side of them is they burn fuel at pretty much the same rate (per hour) regardless of whether the vehicle is going flat out or sitting still. IC engines do have their advantages.

Good article. This doesn't mean we should start strip mining the Rockies though. I find it a little bizarre that he makes the dubious assertion that increased fuel efficiency is the leading cause of carnage on the roads. It has more to do with drunk drivers, overcrowded highways, rollovers from SUVs and trucks, and cars being hit by large SUVs.
