Tell John Kerry: If You Want To Campaign Full Time, RESIGN From The Senate!

This has the making of a scandal written all over it.  John Kerry was absent, to campaign, 64% of the time last session.  This session, he has been absent nearly 100% of the time!  Bob Dole had the tact, when he started campaigning full time, to resign.  Not only did Dole resign from the Senate, but he also gave up the coveted position of Majority Leader.  Kerry doesn't even hold a leadership position.

Note: If Kerry resigns, the Governor of MA gets to appoint a temporary replacement.  The Governor is a Republican.

Here is what you can do (to, at least, be a thorn in his side):

Fax Senator Kerry AND the AP AND Reuters and tell them it's time for Kerry to do the right thing: Resign

Note: you will need to do this three times (once for each fax that needs to go out).

1.  Click HERE.

2.  Enter the fax number in the window as follows (it must read exactly like this):

Kerry:       +1-202-224-8525

AP:           +1-212-621-7520

Reuters:    +1-212-859-1717

4.  If you use the form, don't forget to include your email address.  Otherwise, it won't send.

5. Draft a fax. You can use the sample below if you are short on time. Under this sample letter, you will find a webform that you can use to send a copy of this letter to the rest of the press.

To Whom It May Concern:

Now that John Kerry needs to campaign full-time, he must do the right thing and resign his Senate seat.

Article I, Section 3 of the Constitution reads, "[t]he Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state."  Currently, the citizens of Massachusetts are, effectively, being represented by a single Senator, in abrogation of the Constitution.

Senator Kerry was absent 64% of the time from the Senate last session.  This session, he has been absent almost 100% of the time.  While I realize that Senator Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee, needs to focus on his Presidential campaign now, this does not, per se, relieve him of his duty to his constituents in Massachusetts as their Senator (who are entitled to two Senators under the constitution).  If Senator Kerry cannot both campaign and represent the people of Massachusetts, then he must to the right thing and resign his Senate seat so that his constituents can be properly represented.

Bob Dole understood this when he ran for President in 1996.  Not only did Senator Dole have the tact to resign his Senate seat, but he also gave up the coveted position of Majority Leader.  Bob Dole did the right thing.

As such, it is time for John Kerry to do what is right and proper: resign his seat in the Senate and hit the campaign trail full-time.

Sincerely,

YOUR NAME/YOUR ADDRESS

Come on, he doesn't do much of a job anyway. All they got to do is still an AGAINST sign on his seat.

He'll never do it. The governor of MA is a Republican. When Bob Dole resigned in 1996, the gov of Kansas was a Republican so it was safe for Dole to do so. Just MHO.

Let's get those faxes going! It is a lot harder to ignore a fax than than it is to ignore an email. At least we can be a pain in his butt :)

Good point.

However, you are counting Kennedy as one full Senator. I don't think that is fair. What is his attendance record? Other criteria, though, might also be used:

Weight equivalent: 1-1/2 senators
Alcohol content: 3 senators
Mental alertness: 0.1 senator
Now let's assume his attendance is 70%. Then, his Mental alertness - attendance factor would be: 0.7 x 0.1 = 0.07 (For those keeping score, this is NOT good.)

I guess it depends on what the meaning of "senator" is (to paraphrase a former U.S. president).

He will not resign.
He's keeping his Senate seat reserved so that when
he withdraws as the CommieRat Presidential canidate he'll have his old job back.

If he doesn't want to Fosterized he will follow Comrade Hillarys orders.

Kerry is not going to resign because he is just a decoy candidate. Why do you think the media has consistently called him the presumptive nominee.

Hanoi Kerry at his "moment of glory."
What a piece of ******
The media WILL NOT mention this book.
I will!
The cover is a insult to Iwo Jima vets,
then it gets worse towards Viet Nam vets.
I was there the same time Hanoi Kerry was.
I served on a Destroyer which supplied PBR's
and gave gunfire support in North AND South Viet Nam.
My ship may have even supplied Hanoi Kerry's boat.
I VOW I will do everything I LEGALLY can
to keep this traitor from being elected.
I owe it to those who gave their all.
