Well, it does present an interesting question does it not?

The Left is certainly enabling Islamism to the best of its abilities today. However, this is clearly because they are grossly ignorant of it, and as usual, focused on nothing more than that which will help them gain power in the short term.

When one looks at the Soviet response to Islam, one sees much the same reponse as the Russians in Chechnya, or the Chinese in the western provinces - war. Of course the Soviets, like the current Chinese, did their best to enforce atheism too.

If the Left truly did succeed fully - which would end up looking much like the old Soviet Union, with a handful of nominal improvements - it would then too make war upon Islamism, and almost certainly Islam itself.

So then to return to the orignial point would a tired, nihlist philosophy from the more advanced West defeat a surging and growing new philosophy from the Middle East?

I say yes...but only because the Left, now actually seeing Islam as a threat, would have no compunctions at all about using the full arsenal of weapons the West has - nuclear, chemical, or biological.

Whether or not Islamists would bow before such might...especially after the years of success a dominant Left in the West would mean, said Left could kill billions if it felt the need. You have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet, as one influential Leftist described the Soviet murder of millions. And as genocide was not even a passing concern to the Left on the way to utopia in the past, one could hardly expect it to be now...
