Biden, Kerry, Claim Private Negotiations with France

Chirac prepared to join Iraq effort … all President Bush needs to do is ask

A high-ranking spokesman for Joe Biden claims the Delaware Senator has brokered a secret deal with French President Jacque Chirac to have the fading and militarily inept European power join the US-led effort in Iraq.

According to Biden’s office, all President Bush needs to do is ask: "What Chirac indicated was that he was waiting for (President Bush) and the present administration to reach out and lay out a plan that was sensible and had a sense of urgency about it," said Norm Kurz, a spokesman for Sen. Joe Biden.

The story is eerily reminiscent of claims made in March by Senator John Kerry that his campaign was secretly backed by nameless foreign leaders. When pressed to identify who these foreign leaders were, Kerry snapped, “that’s none of your business.” In an even stranger development, moreover, Kerry affirmed Biden’s claims, citing private conversations with those same ghostly “foreign leaders”:

"I know what the public statements are today," the embattled Democrat presidential nominee stated last week. "It doesn't deter me one iota from saying what I say, based on what my private conversations have been."

Biden’s casual assertions stand in stark contrast to the obstinate stand Chirac and France has taken on Iraq heretofore. If Biden’s claim are true, it would represent a shocking reversal of opinion on the part of the French President.

A pall of skepticism shrouds Biden’s outrageous claims though, as he was once caught is a shocking plagiarism scandal that sunk his 1988 Presidential aspirations.

We’ll keep you posted …

They keep pushing the treason envelope. The dems are undermining our President against a foreign power that seeks to influence our elections to get a President more favorable to their country's interests.

I thought that private citizens were forbidden by law from negotiating with foreign heads of state.

Hey mom! The guy with the doll hair says "W" should call Chirac and the French will bail us out of Iraq.

MOM: Well son, that might be a good idea, the French have not surrendered in Iraq. They could do that. It's something they are very good at.

Here's the plan Jaques? Lay out all of the info you have on where the oil for food money went so that we can track down that money and then use it to better train Iraqi security forces. Do that and you don't need to help us with the troop situation.

Methinks you are correct, only State or the Executive.

Well, heck, Kerry met with the North Vietnamese in Paris while we were at war with them. Next to that, this little adventure, *if* true, is nothing. At least he can plausibly *claim* to be acting in the nation's best interest.

I read this article on your website. Keep up the great work at crushkerry.com.

My response to this is: Who cares? We don't need those little French sissies over there getting in the way.
