The American army stopped Friday one of the closest collaborators of the leader radical Shiite Moqtada Sadr whereas it had just left the mosque of Koufa where its head pronounced his sermon, affirmed the office of Sadr in a communiqué.
"Mohammad Tabtabaï Hakim and its bodyguard were stopped by the American forces and their driver was killed whereas they left Koufa by a minor road to regain Najaf after the prayer of Friday ", specified the official statement.
Babelfish tries, but the French accent remains.
"Arrests?"
Is it possible this is just another babelfish mis-translation, this time mistaking the Arab word for "erase" for that one meaning "arrest?"
Caught him on a back road...killed his driver.......hmmmm.
Translation: once again, as for the past several weeks Sadr has gone from Najaf to Kufa to give his sermon. Once again, he is not eradicated.
There are a lot of half-stories out right now:
1. Sarin shell
2. Chalabi raid
3. Safe-house honeymoon suite
4. Detention of 4 minus 2 in Berg case
5. Now Sadr aide arrested
There are more, but these are a few that come to my mind.
Some of them are like news apparitions. They float across the screen momentarily, and then later you wonder what it was that you saw because they seemed vaguely real, but yet unreal.
