Ouch.
This article is filled with great news. I wonder why Bloomberg chose the only real bad news for their headline?
Everyone probably got done spending their tax refunds on washing machines and refrigerators by the time April rolled around.
Wait a minute here. I thought we were exporting all these types of jobs and losing our manufacturing ability ...
No?
Precisely ...
Time to buy that microwave oven, and dvd player for the college students away from home. Gee we could buy them a toaster oven,a new tv set,an ionizer air cleaner, and any number of durable goods that are not really very expensive but will help the economy tremendously. You can also have a garage sale and make money on the old items or give to charity so that someone with a lesser income can benefit. I bought a new microwave rangehood and electric stove within the last few months, and I donated the old stove and rangehood to the salvation army. I will buy a freezer next. These items are reasonably priced if you shop around, and everyone benefits in the long and short run.
