Homosexual activists are calling for a boycott of Virginia because of its new ban on civil unions, but business and tourism leaders yesterday said it is too early to gauge the impact of such a boycott.
A new Web site started by homosexual activists in Seattle, VirginiaisforHaters.org, urges would-be tourists to boycott Virginia companies and their products. The Web site's name satirizes the state's tourism catch phrase: Virginia Is for Lovers.

Yet another reason why I love my home state so much....by and large, Virginians embrace traditional values of the family that many other areas have forgotten.
Not only is Virginia for Lovers, Virginia is for Lovers of the Family.
"Virginia is for (Straight) Lovers."
"Homosexual activists are calling for a boycott of Virginia "
At least the reporter is using the correct terminology of homosexual - now if they can fire the PC-slime headline writer!
But, technically, isn't the mere fact that the fairies are calling for a boycott in itself, a hate crime? They (the fairies) are being normalphobic and attempting to punish Virginia for its sexual preferences.
Well I guess it's the Virginia beaches for vacation this year after visiting DC.
I've just decided to change my vacation plans and head for Virginia.
We need to boost the Virginia economy. So if you spend the night in the DC area, think of spending your hard- earned dollars in the land of Washington and Jefferson.
Hmm? Could be a great start for Fire Island in NY!
Those homosexuals won't be satisfied until they force Virginia to change it's slogan to read:
" Virginia is for nothing butt lovers."
I just made a trip to Virginia to see Jefferson's home at Monticello. I see by this that I made the right choice!
Did you really?!
LOL
I wish they would boycott Texas.
I wish they would boycott Tennessee.
In fact I wish the ones that were here would leave in protest.
Yes, I was going to go to Georgia during the 4th of July weekend but I think I will change it to Virginia. I hear it's gorgeous there and I have never been there before.
Response: Now I'm sure we are going to visit Virginia this year. I'll spend 1/3rd more than I ordinarily would. I loved it as did my family, especially Fredericksburg. Let everybody who can make it GO!
FLOYD - Few beverages are as biblical as wine, yet David Morrisette, owner of Chateau Morrisette winery and restaurant, won't serve any at his June 19 Concert for Christ.
Morrisette said he got the idea for the concert a couple of years ago during prayer. "It wasn't really a vision. God just said, 'I just want you to have a concert in honor of my son.' And I said, 'OK, Lord.'"
The concert will be held in a natural amphitheater with Buffalo Mountain as a backdrop near the winery at 3641 Black Ridge Road in Floyd. No alcohol will be served to keep the event strictly family-friendly, Morrisette said.
Don't forget to visit Richmond. You can check out the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, which contains works by Monet, Renoir, etc., Faberge eggs, and a nice collection of ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian art. Or visit the state capitol. Do some shopping in Carytown.
On your way up to the mountains, stop by Appomattox Courthouse and observe where the Civil War ended.
Then, swing the other way, and hit the amusement parks on your way to Virginia Beach! Kings' Dominion and Busch Gardens have some of the best roller coasters in the nation.
No, I don't work for the Virginia Department of Tourism. :-)
We really loved Virginia. I have never met a people that were more courteous to strangers. The scenery is beautiful, there is history on every road.
