A U.S.-sponsored poll shows Iraqis have lost confidence in the occupying authorities--and that the majority of Iraqis want Coalition troops out of the country immediately
"The first survey of Iraqis sponsored by the U.S. Coalition Provisional Authority after the Abu Ghraib prison scandal shows that most say they would feel safer if Coalition forces left immediately, without even waiting for elections scheduled for next year. An overwhelming majority, about 80 percent, also say they have no confidence in either the U.S. civilian authorities or coalition forces ..."

Have at it!
Iraqis better figure out how to get a handle on these terrorists themselves because we aren't going to be there to hold their hands much longer.
True.
much like the last poll conducted favorable numbers on other issues are ignored.
MSNBC NEWSWEAK SAYS IT ALL I REST MY CASE ANTI-AMERICAM SCAM
MEDIA.DUMB
I am saying the poll will be used FOR propaganda. I know who commissioned the poll.
What do you think polls would have shown in post-war Germany and Japan? Do you think they would have thought us to be an occupying force?
This is commonsense crap. Of course they are thinking we are occupying their country.
Total horsecrap. The majority of Iraqis know that without the U.S. to fight the terrorists, the country wil quickly devolve into chaos that will make mid-April 2003 look like a period of calm.
Refusals were the highest seen to date, a trend noted by other pollsters.
Wonder what the opinions were of the folks who refused? If that number is very high, how can this poll accurately represent what Iraqis believe? Would the people willing to talk to the pollster after being randomly approached skew towards those who dislike America?
What did they forgot to tell us? That this survey only polled former Bathe party members?
God bless George Bush and our wonderful US military.
Good question. Are these Iraqis still afraid to say that they support US troops?
As the handover proceeds things will improve. Why? Because the terrorists are being exposed as destroyers and not builders. They have no interest in seeing Iraq restored
And with the American and coalition forces laying low Iraqis will see that America has been the best thing that ever happened to them. Already the Iraqis are getting sick of seeing their families and friends fall victim to the daily raounds of car bombs and attacks
The terrorists are desperate and fear democracy. This will be shown more clearly in the coming months
Better days are just around the corner
Fallujah will always be remembered as where the US lost it's will and resolve to fight. We stood down without finishing the job we set out to do and the job our president said he would. We let others (liberals, the Un and whiney Arabs) influence our actions and did not have the will nor resolve to do what is needed.
What do you expect the Iraqis see? They see a security problem that the United States seems to think they can just "wish" away. Give our enemy an Iraqi uniform and secede power to them is not a substitute for victory. We lost Fallujah and in doing so we lost the war there.
The war for our fighting men ended on that day. We need to bring them home and quit jerking around with the people.
Im sure Iranian backed Sadr won't get weak in the knees and start wringing his hands at the prospect of having to break a few eggs to restore law and order in Iraq.
of course they hate everyone, what about saddam, what about the un, what about iran, where those questions asked...bet the like us better than those choices...create a dumb poll get dumb results....so we leave...what has been accomplished...what a bunch of f**king idoits the haters of america are...and they are all here...enemy form within...bring down bush...at the expense of our survival and safety...with a media like we have today we would have lost WWII for sure...
Those people are sick and tired of the whole thing, this doesn't surprise me. We still gotta do what we gotta do.
