Of all the tasks directed to the US gov't and all the tasks it has chosen to take on, securing the borders would have to be close to the top (it's actually the same thing as providing for the mutual defense nowadays).
I guess what really concerns me is the fact that everyone from the 9/11 commission and intell services to the white house are saying "We WILL be attacked sometime in the next several months". Democrats are again silent because they're so desperate to get rid of the patriot act. Considering a comming attack stands in direct opposition to their wish to get rid of the law.
I agree that the law should be reviewed every couple of years but we need it now more than ever before.
What immigration enforcement. Bush gave a bunch illegals and criminals immunity for votes. We fail to properly close off our northern and southern borders to new terrorists, criminals and illegal aliens.
Bush is going to go down, just like his daddy, because he has failed to properly shut down the borders and weed out terrorists and undesirables invading this country.
