Democrat Establishment Wages War on Bald Eagles

Democrat politicians such as John Kerry and Al Gore who tool around in gas-guzzling SUVs and private jets are always proclaiming what "environmentalists" they are, but here's a shocking case that shows the party's true colors are anything but green.

You know the Dems have screwed up when the extremely pro-Democrat New York Times blows the whistle on them.

Citgo Petroleum Corp. (one of those companies routinely condemned by Democrats for supplying America with such necessities as fuel and jobs) was good enough to set aside Petty's Island in the Delaware River as a nature preserve. The reason: A pair of bald eagles nested on the 300-acre island and even hatched an eaglet despite the nearby environmental horrors of Camden and Pennsauken, N.J.

"But now the eagles are facing a greater threat: New Jersey's Democratic power brokers, who are pushing to build a resort on the island, complete with a hotel, more than 300 homes, a conference center and an 18-hole golf course. They are pressuring the McGreevey administration to reject the plans to make the land a nature preserve," the Times reported.

Jeff Tittel, executive director of New Jersey's Republican-bashing, business-bashing Sierra Club, which usually serves as just another tool of the Democrat party, said, "It's kind of sad when Democratic elected officials make an oil company look environmentally friendly."

"Unfortunately for Citgo," the Times reported, "the company ... finds itself on the opposite side of some the most powerful political forces in New Jersey." That would be Democrat Gov. James McGreevey and the notoriously corrupt state's notoriously corrupt Democrat establishment.

America's national symbol vs. the donkey ... place your bets, ladies and gentlemen.

Given reasonable accomodation, the eagles would be just fine. The bald eagles around here live in the trees of suburban neighborhoods. Quite adaptable, they are.

I would say that was a turkey buzzard, but I would hate to impugn the good name of carrion birds everywhere...

I've come to agree with Ann Coulter: the Democrat Party, the leader of which apparently endorses the seditious film Fahrenheit 9/11 by traitor Michael Moore, is a treasonous organization. They despise the bald eagle because it is the American national bird, and therefore deserves extermination, as does the country that it represents.

I have come to the realization that the sooner we call the Democrat party Socialists and make them confront that reality the better off we will be.

The nation of Corruptica strikes again.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

They also had the bald eagle because it is a powerful bird of prey and represents strengh. As opposed to their mascot the jackass.

I have an even more blatant example of enviro-leftist and Democrat hypocrisy. "Windmills for generating supposedly 'green' electricity have killed tens of thousands of raptors and other birds at California's famed Altamont Pass 'wind farm.'
"According to the Washington Post, the freezers at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department in the Sacramento Valley are overflowing with the decapitated and mangled bodies of Golden Eagles, Kestrels, and Red-tailed Hawks, victims of the whirling blades of wind turbines used to generate supposedly 'green' electricity. Scientists estimate as many as 44,000(!!!) birds have been killed over the past two decades..."
"...enough birds are being killed to affect the resident population of Golden Eagles -at least 60 of which are killed each year..."

If an ordinary citizen, or corporation unconnected with the enviro-leftist elite killed a Golden Eagle, they would probably be sent to prison.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." (George Orwell. 'Animal Farm'.)

I've seen bald eagles nesting up in deadwood snags next to highways - they will be okay.
However, I sense the Rats don't care whether or not they will be safe, as long as the developers who donate to demonrats get to BUILD BUILD BUILD. I imagine the developers will be getting some huge tax break incentives, too. Lobbyists will know where to host posh gatherings and golf weekends when they wine, dine and entertain their favorite crooked politicos.
