Will Kerry Try Senator Evan Bayh?
· Kerry intends to begin calling the major candidates in contention around 7 a.m. Tuesday to give them the news of his choice...
· Kerry's aides reported placards had been printed with three versions of the Democratic ticket: Kerry-Edwards, Kerry-Gephardt and Kerry-Vilsack, though they acknowledged that Kerry could still surprise even them with a different selection...
· Kerry will appear at a big morning rally in Market Square in downtown Pittsburgh and announce choice at 9 a.m. Tuesday, before flying to Indianapolis.
· The running mate's political director would be Linda Moore, who was President Bill Clinton's deputy political director and then Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh's deputy chief of staff...
I agree, he will be the pick.
I'm quite certain it's Edwards. I don't like it, but there it is.
Drudge has absolutley nothing to back up that claim. Bayh would be a good pick, but there is nothing to indicate that he is in fact the pick. Drudge has been all over the place on this one and it's getting annoying.
Certainly, if Kerry is flying to Indianapolis, Bayh will be the pick. Bayh is the one guy I was hoping Kerry would not pick. He's strong on defense, not a liberal. Bayh would be the best pick Kerry could make. The others are all stiffs.
I think you are right. All signs are pointing to Edwards.
Wow! His hair is almost as pretty as Edwards's. /sarcasm
I think the fact that Edwards has become conventional wisdom is exactly the reason why he will not be picked.
Why don't we just wait until tomorrow when the windbag-in-chief makes his choice? This is getting nuts.
Who CARES?
Who???
He'd be a great pick. A straight shooter all the way. Would be someone who could draw conservatives/moderates. No baggage that I know of.
Drudge says Bayh, Morris swears Hitlery, unions demand Gepfardt and the Deniacs insist on Dean.
Let's call the whole thing off.
Prairie
Bayh's eyes don't look right on TV, and that will come into play
Seven letters?

Heh? Heh?
Think about it: tanned, rested and ready.
AND: Seven letters!
Yeah I am with you on that. There's too much Edwards hype for it to be Edwards... it would ruin the "bounce" that Kerry needs so badly.
Another Freeper posted that Bayh is up for Senate re-election this fall though. Possibly would be a deterrant.
Who knows.
*ping* for your thoughts.
I was a casual friend of Evan's when we went to college together. He will have the Dan Quayle effect to overcome if he does get the nod.
