LIBERAL NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR'S FUNRAISER INDICTED
970DJ - New Jersey ^ | 7.7.2004

TRETNTON - A long time friend of New Jersey Governor James McGreevy (D) was indicted yesterday on charges of extortion and bribery.

David D'Amiano has been friends with McGreevy since the two were teenagers. D'Amiano was charged with attempting to extort thousands in political contributions and thousands more for personal enrichment and for that of his cronies.

According to the indictment D'Amiano would enlist a scheme where in exchange for the contributions he would seek the help of influential government officials in disputes over land issues. The schemes and the agreements would be carried out on the basis of code words, "Disneyland" or "Machiavellian". The indictment was 47 pages in length.

"State Official 1" is referred to in the inictment. This apparently a reference to Governor James McGreevy (D). On two occassions the governor is quoted as using code words consistent with the scheme. The discussions - both at political events were secretly taped and serve as part of the hundreds of hours of tapes that are the basis of the indictment.

"State Official 1" is declaring that his administration has done nothing wrong.

Now that sounds like 'fun'. (if you're a cronie!)

Anyone can indict a rat sandwich if they want to. It's the conviction and sentencing that count. Bail and postponements, followed by several sudden and debilitating illnesses will bring this guy onto the court docket sometime in 2010. In 2010 it will be evident that we had inadequate laws and need reforms.

The descriptions of what McGreevy did are huge. He meets the landowner and immediately uses the code word "Machiavelli" that the landowner demanded to hear as proof the deal was on. McGreevy, who is an inarticulate thug, says it was a literary reference. As I've posted before, the dem corruption is focused intently on development and preservation of land, especially development and billboards along highways. I'm hoping McGreevy will be indicted soon, but they probably hope this fundraiser will flip first. Obviously, he had to arrange for McGreevy to use the code words. These guys are really dirty.

I guess you didn't get the memo. It states 2 basic concepts -

1 - In case of national or international issues, proper response is "It's all Bush's fault"

2 - In case of NJ State issues, it's all the "prior administrations'" fault.

Hope that clears things up. McGrievance would never do a bad thing himself! ;)

Where are the NJ legislature's calls for impeachment or resignation? C.f. Connecticut's John Rowland, who simply received questionable, if arguably legal, gifts. The difference? Rowland's a Republican...

who knows, if this gets serious. maybe McGreevey will "out" himself and blame his enemies, to gain the sympathy backlash.

Legal experts noted that by making the political party and not the public in general the victim of Mr. D'Amiano's alleged scheme,.......

How do the 'Rats become the "victim"? They got the cash.
