SAN JOSE, Calif. The United States may have come a long way in the fight against institutionalized racism but in California, black children are still being denied access to an important educational tool.

I wonder how long it will be till we hear the cry of, "What does a white woman know about the needs of a black child."

The only reason blacks were "denied" IQ tests in the first place was because back when they were administered, blacks did so poorly that some liberal judges made it verboten to test them!
This is a bit of a load. Black activists in California lobbied for and got this exemption. the lack of testing is due to their own negligent activism.
You can post Fox News fully.
When CA refued to recognize Ebonics,
as a language, the IQ tests were dropped
at the demand of democrats and blacks.
Thanks for that!
that's true
Every IQ test I have taken was pretty straight forward. Most of the Q's are visual and not verbal (word play). I don't see how they have anything to do with environment.
Exactly.
Their not designed to test knowledge, but rather abstract thought.
Take a psychology class and you will understand.
What is the point of testing a six year old's 'abstract thought'? And why was the IQ test traditionally been used to label generations of black children educable retarded? If the score of 85 is supposed designate someone that's retarded then there's a lot of retarded black people out there who don't know they are retards. It's a liberal backlash to racialists who used the IQ test to keep down black kids, except now the liberals are doing an even better job themselves.
Because a lifetime's worth of problem solving depends upon ones proficiency in abstract thought.
I'm not a "racialist" but why is it that we accept that different racial groups vary physically - except above the neck?
~~Take a psychology class and you will understand.~~
I've taken plenty of them. I was a Psychology major before I figured out it was a worthless degree (ended up with MS Chemistry, BS Microbiology). And I stick with my original statement.
Give me a break. Did you know you can improve your IQ score? Mine was never tested when I was in grade school, but the first time I tested it my score was 100. The last real sit down IQ test I took my score was 130 so spare me.
Right so what do you plan on saying to black children about 'racial differences'?
"And a big reason why they would do poorly is the cultural climate they come from.. In order to be relevant, an IQ test must be based on the child's environment - a farm kid and an inner-city kid would each have trouble with an IQ test designed for the other's environment."
You forgot the < Sarcasm > tag ---- I hope!
I was not brought up in the USA nor lived here most of my life - in the USA, I've lived in southern Arkansas, New Jersey, Texas, and California.
My IQ was tested in High School at 138 - and in the military at 148..
Yeah I guess if you have no "local experience" you do real poorly?
BTW I was brought up in a country that was run by a dictator first, then a communist.
So much for leftist lies about testing.
My word today is a banner day for accusing people of being leftist. You really think 100% of intelligence is biological? That environment has NOTHING to do with what children learn? And why isn't KNOWLEDGE tested more than abstract thought?
So what?
I can increase my endurance by running. Doesn't mean I'll be winning any marathons any time soon.
Abstract thought is a major key to success. Good old fasion 'hard work' just don't cut it anymore. If you want to work in a 'beehive' environment then you might get away with it, but if you want to be succesful on your own, being able to think outside the box is crucial. This is from a guy who has started 4 businesses (some worked and some didn't). Note: abstract thought alone is not a guarantee to success. Hard work and the will to pull yourself off the ground during failure is also crucial.
