ZOT! Remember the Democrats facts before you vote, oh wait, they don't know facts, only feelings...
Aspen Daily News, Aspen Colorado ^ | Friday, July 9, 2004 | Alecia Evans

This weekend, Aspen will play host to a slew of the nation’s top experts in the fields of terrorism, the environment, global climate change and the political climate. This may come as no surprise to most of you but the physical state of the world at this moment SUCKS.

Global warming, famine, war, bad water, bad air, environmental destruction, children sick from pollution, breast cancer on the rise with no real solutions on the horizon, threats of terrorist attacks looming each day, corporate polluters and looters being given free reign to pollute as they please.

In case you haven’t noticed, the Bush regime has simultaneously launched an all out attack not only on "terrorists," but on our planet, the people, animals, and natural diversity that reside here. The question of probability for increased natural disasters is no longer an "if," but a "when," unless this regime is stopped.

The likelihood of our present government or its corporate partners exercising some restraint over their profit making endeavors is slim to none. So it is up to us consumers to speak our minds with our purchasing dollars in order to assist in the re-balancing of our planet. It is vital to educate oneself in order to make informed choices. The Internet contains vast amounts of information available to you at any time about the ways in which citizens are being deceived by our government and by corporations that you will not read about or hear about in your local or world news.

By getting informed you will be able to cast your vote each time you purchase a product so that you will follow the premise of "don’t pay for what you don’t want." None of us wants to fund entities that cause harm to people, the animals or the environment – so do your research and get informed. To get you started below is a simple recap of the current administrations part in the present state of the world.

Let’s take a brief walk down memory lane to refresh the facts.

1. Bush was not elected legally into the White House after what was probably one of the biggest election shams in history. He stole the election in his brother’s home state of Florida, without too much resistance from voters and waltzed his way into the office of presidency. See what happens when you have a four-second attention span, you forget things like this.

2. Bush systematically discredits himself and his entire campaign platform by reneging on every campaign promise he made to the people in favor of his corporate sponsors. His promise to sign the Kyoto treaty to force makers of automobiles to raise emissions standards – scrapped. His promise to create clean energy – see ya. His promise that no child be left behind – bye-bye. His oath to tell the truth – how do we count up all of the lies? His promise to protect the environment – just attend this weekend’s State of the World Conference, hosted by the Sopris Foundation (www.soprisfoundation.org). In three years this presidency has scrapped 50 years worth of environmental laws set up to protect our planet from the people that make a profit off of pillaging the earth.

3. On his promise to build a strong, healthy, safe America – the rest of the natural born world hates us for ignoring the U.N. and attacking the innocent nation of Iraq due to supposed weapons of mass destruction that Saddam Hussein supposedly possessed that were never found and which we (Papa Bush’s administration) armed him with. Go find that in any national news media.

4. Upon the wake of Sept. 11, 2004, the Bush regime was able to pass laws governing national energy policies that essentially screwed the environment and the beings that live in the environment, but have greatly profited those that derive an income off of the destruction of said environment. In addition, a small act known as the Patriot Act was passed that essentially took away the right to privacy of all U.S. citizens in the name of "terrorism." What most of us haven’t figured out yet is that the enforcement of this little act could possibly land one in jail for speaking out against the wrong doings of the current political regime. Didn’t you notice the smugness on the faces of Condi, Donnie, Johnnie, Georgie, and Paulie when they testified before the nation during the 9/11 investigation hearings? I would have included Dickie – but he’s never smug; he’s too professional about his administration’s world domination to smirk.

5. Then his regime created a media fiasco of manipulation and confusion where in our original sinister mad man – Osama bin Laden – who was "responsible" for master minding the Trade Tower disaster disappears from the scene to be replaced by a tyrant by the name of Saddam Hussein. Bush then declared war upon Hussein, who never had anything to do with the bombing – all the while letting Osama get away. Oh, how could I forget – Bush declared war, which is something only Congress can do and did so illegally, knowingly leading our troops into bloodshed over oil profits and Halliburton contracts.

6. So that about brings us to today. We now have a president in office who in any other country would have been impeached, who has deep ties to the same family of the man who supposedly brought down the world trade center and killed 3,000 innocent people, who has lied about his past (or to be more exact – has sealed off his past from public view), who is having his way with the destruction of our environment and the wild animals that live here, who – along with his very wealthy, corporately controlled cabinet – has systematically taken hostage the news media, held the nation in a state of fear, has replaced honest hard working government officials and scientists because they did not agree with his views, and created a war that never should have happened.

So all of you who fall into the category of Attention Deficit Disorder marked by a four-second attention span, please keep this column to remind you of some of the facts to remember in November.

Yeah, this is your typical run-of-the-mill knee-jerk socialist rant.

BTW, welcome to FR. Get acquainted with the rules and do some lurking and learn the lingo. FR is on edge because we get a lot of newbies who turn out to be liberal trolls trying to distract Freepers from our conservatism.

Misplaced priorities, a question for Democrats

This is a question I prepared to publicly ask my Democrat US Senator.

My question will deal with what I believe are Democrats misplaced priorities. Making Our Country better should be the number one priority of those representing us in Federal Office.

A few years ago the leader of your Party decided that saving himself a little personal embarrassment was a higher priority than showing respect for the Truth the Rule of Law and Our Judicial System. So while under oath he simply lied. Then his minions ran around and in essence claimed that all politicians would do the same and look out for themselves first. You either agreed with Clinton or out of Party loyalty you found it acceptable that the President of the United States had placed his own desires ahead of concern for what is best for Our Country.

Instead of accepting that he had lost an election Al Gore asked the Florida Court to overturn current election law and create new laws favoring Al Gore in the recount. For Mister Gore it seems that his grab for office was more important than concern for the deep divisions he created in Our Country.

A few Democrats on the 911 commission considered learning from our past mistakes and trying to prevent another 911 type attack to be less important than the chance to take partisan shots at President Bush.

A couple of your fellow Senators have recently offered critiques of our efforts to rebuild Iraq that would seem to place a higher priority on attacking President Bush than on improving the situation in Iraq.

I believe that making Our Country better should be the highest priority of those I elect to represent me and since Democrats consider what is best for Our Country to be at best of secondary importance. My question for you is:

Why should any American who wants to make Our Country better, vote Democrat?

Impossible!

Simply impossible.

Unless...I could somehow get ahold of a flux capacitor.

Naaaah!

I'd have to speak with Christopher Lloyd to do that, and well, you know how he can be.

Seriously, I appreciate the welcome.

"Scourge" appreciates your appreciation.
