Havana, Jul 9 (EFE).- Cubans will no longer have to find pirated copies of the controversial film "Fahrenheit 9/11" in the island's illegal "private video libraries" because the government has decided to debut Michael Moore's documentary across the country this month.
Anything, anything, anything to keep the focus off of his own failed regime.
Cuban propaganda is one "cause" after another.
Communist propaganda is always welcome in Cuba.
5.56mm
The American Left's message is no different from what comes out of Radio Havana Cuba everyday. Pick a little shortwave radio and check it out.
Socialists line up behind 'Fahrenheit 9/11': New group join Stalinists, Maoists in praise of Moore
9/11 is a horrible film.
That being said, I am starting to believe that it does have one tantalizing draw.
It is the ONLY current film out there on this issue. If there is another, please mention it.
There appears to be a curious vacuum on this issue from more reputable film makers. But the public has a lot of emotions tied up in this date and will see any piece of dredge put out on it.
Michael's Mama must be SO proud of her son.
Michael Moore is exempt from the embargo? Michael Moore can distribute a fantasy film in Cuba, but I cannot sell Cuba a Tootsie Pop? What gives?
There have been (bloodless) documentaries on the 9/11 attacks. The sources of the failures in national security that day are still under investigation (and the panel looking into those failures exempted one of the key players from testimony, she was permitted to ask questions instead).
There is a documentary that the left loves called The Control Room that shows Al Jazeera's take on the war in Iraq. It is in theaters now.
Few sitting Presidents are ever afforded a theatrical profile film while they are still in office.
Roger Ebert has expressed (mock?) surprise that there is not one pro-Bush film in distribution right now.
Hell hath no fury than michael moore scorned a twinkie.
How is Michael Moore permitted to pocket money from Cuba and Hezbollah? What is the State Department's position?
There are several, they just haven't gotten the media hype that F9/11 has gotten (did anyone notice that many of the Cannes judges are betrothed to Lion's Gate? Not very impartial). There's Beyond Baghdad, Uncovered: the War on Iraq, Control Room, etc.
