I don't know, but there's more quotes from Buckley in the article below. From post 20:
Buckley vs. Reagan (Jr.)
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/robertnovak/rn20040712.shtml
To have a fool for a son brings grief; there is no joy for the father of a fool. (Proverbs 17:21)
And I hope the RNC counters by having Michael Reagan speak.
Ronald Reagan may not have passed on his genetics but he did pass on the values with Michael.
Ron's eulogy revealed to me that he is IQ is in the lower ranges.
My 'WAG' is this 'slap down' will get a lot less attention than little Ron's speaking at the DNC will (already has).
If Ron keeps this crap up at the DNConvention, effectively trying to use the Reagan name to elect a leftist Democrat,
then I wouldn't be too surprised to see not only Michael but perhaps even "Nancy herself" speak in reply at the RNConvention.
Can't you just imagine it? If (and only if) Ron "opens the door" to use of Reagan's legacy for political purposes, Nancy mounts the podium ... one last time ... and says on Ronald's behalf, "Win one more for the Gipper. I don't know where he'll be then, but he'll know about, and he'll be happy."
(Like I said, this ONLY could work if the Dems "break the rules" FIRST against using Reagan's name/death for political purposes. Otherwise, it'd backfire, and rightly so probably.)
Buckley will be on Rush today - last hour, I think.
He is a disloyal, ungrateful twit who has blamed his father for everything Ron Prescott was not talented enough, or attractive enough, or capable enough to achieve on his own.
Both he and his sister grew up among the offspring of others in Hollywood. Obviously, they got quite a bit of Leftist peer pressure, probably especially in their teens and young adulthood during the 1960's and 1970's. They both wanted careers in show business. Both believed their father's career in Republican politics hurt their chances in Leftist Hollywood. Both resented their father for what they believed was a negative weight in their own lives, that being his conservative Republican politics.
Patti, to give her some due credit, at least seems to have come to some peace with her father and mother. Ron Prescott, on the other hand, in his mid 40's is still a bitter, resentful boy lashing out against the father he clearly despises.
Size 11, hmmmmmm
I don't remember GWBush ever criticizing anyone on a personal level. In that regard, Bush is more like Reagan's son, then Ronald Prescott will ever hope of being.
I think its best we let Ronald Prescott drift into obscurity. He's getting far to much attention and ain't worth the effort. Hardball gets a 0.3 rating, which is about as low as a cable news show can go.
You are correct, but who would have thought 15 years ago, that Ronald Prescott(not Patty), would be the one to desecarte their Father's grave about their Father's 11th Commandment.
i read the nyt article and was disgusted.
in sum, he has no respect for his father.
Great !!! Thanks for the ping ! Worth repeating from the article:
Among the responses in a letter Buckley sent to the late president's son, according to Novak:
- The younger Reagan claimed "in an interview with the New York Times that he, as a self-professed atheist, admired the Buddhist teachings of 'mindfulness and loving kindness and compassion.' Buckley told him: 'You proceed in a single interview to profane/deride the faith of your parents, which is not very mindful.'"
- The boast that he did not vote for Bush: "Odd that you should permit this invasion of privacy whose only purpose is to remark the political infidelity of the son of Ronald Reagan."
- To Junior's claim that his father "worked hard to impress upon his children the value of kindness," Buckley noted, "If he did, he was manifestly unsuccessful." [Meek here: Except for Michael Reagan, that is.]
Well, at least the angry and hateful former ballet dancer will fit right in at the Democrat convention.
He is still a little boy who knew he could not compete with his needy mother, friends, business colleagues, and the world that filled Ronald Reagan's life. So instead of trying he became the precise opposite of what his father wanted which was the only way he could ever get his father's attention. Psych 101.
Why can't Michael Reagan speak at the Republican Convention. He is a great Reagan legacy.
AFTER ALL, "EVERYBODY SAID" His Dad was "Out of Touch!!
Sometimes, we're Just Not Blessed with Sufficient wisdom to see the "Flow of History" around us.

My son is on his way back to Baghdad this week. I asked he and his wife how many more kids they were going to have when he got back (they have a 6 month baby daughter).
His wife piped in and said, "You're gonna love this. If it's a boy, we're going to give him a double middle name."
I said, oh yeah? A double middle? (My middle name is West.)
She says, "Yep. We're going to name him Xxxx West-Walker Xxx, after you and George W. Bush."
