I have heard this taught by Bill Gothard. Are you following his line of reasoning on this?
That is a non issue in this case. We are talking about the public recognition of gay sexual partners, not the legality of their sex act.
"as all oral sex is sodomy, according to the Bible,"
Please cite chapter and verse for your allegation.
The old LEGAL definition of sodomy includes anything other than vaginal, missionary position sex, but I've heard of no biblical foundation for such a generalization--its all based on tradition...probably from the Roman Catholic church, not the bible.
The bible clearly spells out homosexual sex in both Old and New Testaments is immoral, calling it an abomination. As to what is specifially evil between a husband and wife, scripture says nothing.
Where scripture is silent, so should we be.
That is a scripural reference I've been looking for, but having difficulty finding it.
You're kidding me right. No probably not but still...
(Please show some clear scriptures for this that do not twist old english into today's meanings for vastly different wordings.)
It is not discussed, nor forbidden in the Bible. On top of that Song of Solomon alludes to the tasting of each other's body (2:3, 4:16, 8:2). Song of Solomon is considered almost pornographic and not for children to read in many circles. (I think it is wrong to use the term porn in reference to any Biblical portion but I understand their point, it is very explicit -- do a study with some of the original language at some point, you'll see that most translators water it down.)
"..The one thing Dobson seems to have forgotten to mention is that until Christians abstain from the same sexual practices homosexuals engage in, there will be no moral authority or moral high ground for "family values" to stand on. This is a difficult teaching, as all oral sex is sodomy, according to the Bible, and according to our old time sodomy laws in this country. This means heterosexual oral sex, of course."
Having read the Bible a few times, this one is a surprise.
Could you point to what part of scripture forbids hetero oral sex?
I don't doubt at one time it was considered beyond the norm by society, but I don't know of any Bible passage that clearly forbids any specific sex between a married man and woman.

P.S. There is a good point here, in any case. Our society has accepted lots of sex outside of marriage under the values of privacy and pleasure. 'Free love' that is hetero eventually has to accomodate homosexual behavior. Of course, there are a number of Bible passages that clearly prohibit homosexual behavior.
Cites, please?
You are on to something here. I have always said the same thing.
If sodomy is okay between a man and a woman, what would be wrong with it between two men?
When Sex is thought of as less than a sanctified union between two married people, and more of a recreational activity between two consenting adults; then there is no argument against homosexuality!
