We're here to prove that when a U.S. state attacks the fundamental rights of gay and lesbian citizens, gays and lesbians know how to fight back. Our friends and families are cheering us on. Please join forward-thinking Americans across the country in boycotting Virginia companies and their products and services. And by all means, don't take your tourism dollars there until they disprove their new slogan, "Virginia is for Haters."

So I'm thinking that a boycott runs both ways. I took a look at the list of the top 10 companies in VA and was pleased to see that I already do busines with several. Looks like I need to switch to NEXTEL when my cell contract expires!
There is also this nifty place to log in with your own personal comments, should the spirit move you in that way.
I wish I could afford to take a vacation. I'd make it a point to drop some cash in Virginia.
Let's hope this boycott will be just as successful as that South Carolina boycott.
True. Also in the area of unintended consequences, this could mean that Virginia is now safe for normal families to vacation there.
Basically, this is saying that they will not go to Virginia, and grope each other in front of everyone's children. Show me the downside to this.
I think I can justify a business/pleasure trip to VA. Will try to do this in a few months...... kinda halfway planned on it anyway.
The real question is who hates more, the people of virginia or the gays. I say the gays.
No downside at all...in fact I predict it will be a very good year for VA tourism.
Virginia is fer straight people Ping.
I grew up in VA Beach and have since vacationed there a few times.
It is one of the nicest places in America. If you are looking for the most beautiful beach in contintental US - they've got it. The state in general also has some of the best historical attractions too (though I found Colonial Williamsburg boring).
By all means if you have doubts, VA is the place to take a vacation too.
I'm thinking VA beach will be a great place to visit next year too.
Wonder how those HUGE MILITARY FACILITIES will ever be able to survive. That means no family members will be coming for graduation, no vendors will be coming to meet with staff, nobody will go to Williamsburg, nobody will visit Six Fags.
(rolling eyes)
In order to boycott, you must have a legitimate target - otherwise, you look stupid.
Six Fags - Six Flags
(but I think it's Busch Gardens, really. My souvenir coffee mug broke so I don't remember which it was).
Please O Please...get back in the closet.
Seriously.
Well how 'bout that. We've just dumped about a grand into the Virginia economy over the last few days and are very much enjoying our stay here. Make me feel pretty good!
Virginia should use this 'boycott' in their tourism ads.
But seriously, it is this type of overwhelming legislative/popular support for traditional values that drives the left nuts, and what makes it all the sweeter for them when they get some court to do their dirty work for them by handing them a victorty they could never have won in a fair fight.
What I want to know is this; have those normally GOP-leaning rurual and suburban Va voters who bought into Gov Warner's phony claims of not being a liberal learned their lesson? Didn't he veto this bill? Will they remember this when he runs for the Senate when Senator Warner retires or against Senator Allen in 2006?
I'm headed to Virginia next month. Saving money now so I can spend, spend, spend.
Why do people insist on calling them "Gay"? My observation is that they're not gay, they're usually mad as hell. They ruthlessly appropriated the word "gay" and I want it back. It doesn't mean "homosexual", it means "happy and carefree" and I want it back. It's a nice word, and I want it back!.
Call them "homosexuals", it's judgementally neutral and technically accurate.
My next vacation, Virginia Beach VA! I hear they do not cater to perverts there! sounds like my kind of place. Go Virginia!
