Load Elton up and hit the 60's buttom on the time machine.

It isn't the government, but we, the people who are sick of the Hollywood morons and their hate speak America.

Where did the GOVERNMENT censor Anyone? If the Dixie Chicks lost money after their comments, that was because people decided to not buy their music; it had nothing to do with the government.

Elton was wrong about a lot of things--the reason there have been no antiwar concerts is that the musicians would LOSE money. The reason Toby Kieth's "Angry American" is so popular is because it says what the vast majority feel.

And of COURSE the President is accountable. But when anyone makes a public statement, aren't they equally accountable? The founding fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor for their beliefs. It's a damn shame that the entertainers aren't willing to make the same sacrifices for their own.

"He lives in Atlanta. He's been doing his "Red Piano" show in Las Vegas. He pays US taxes, why can't he speak his mind here too?"

Uh.... how about this quaint little notion. He can't because he ISN'T a US Citizen! He's here on a Visa, he's a guest in our country.

Now I don't know about you, but if a guest comes to my house and insults me, I tell him to get the HELL OUT, STAY out and DON'T come back!

Oh and I'm sure you're aware of why all these British (and Commonwealth) 'stars' come here to live perpetually on a Visa don't you? Well if not, it's because their lovely country taxes them at about 90% - that's why.

I include golfer Greg Norman as one 'star' who fled his country ASAP to live here only because of the TAX rate of his 'home country'. He can kiss my butt too. GD Klintoon lover... Grrrrr

The market is there for anti-Bush vile. The market is viable to promote anti-American propaganda, anti-war rhetoric and comparisons to Nazism against our administration. People are making money spouting lies, helping to fuel G.W's economy in the process. LOL

Elton, you know you haven't been censored or you wouldn't be giving this interview.

You are a coward. You will not say what your actual problem is, you only hint at it.

""As of this spring, there have been virtually no anti-war concerts - or anti-war songs that catch on, for that matter," he said."

Translation: It isn't popular to be against the war or hate this President except in liberal cliques. You long for the days when The American public cowered in the face of your rebellion.

You, sir, haven't the courage to admit your problem is with US, the people that made you a "star". You are not content we are expressing OUR right to dissent from pop culture. You blame the President because YOU haven't the courage to take the fight to us. You fear US, not President Bush, censoring your speech. You fear this censorship monetarily as well as rank of fame.

That is where the genuine problem lies. The population scorns them after these comments. They may buy their songs, read their books, and watch their films but the love affair from the consumers is coming to an end.

"Elton John has said stars are scared to speak out against war in Iraq because of "bullying tactics" used by the US government to hinder free speech."

Put your thinking cap on Elton. Americans have a right to not buy your goods. Ain't it beautiful. Now if you must listen to Elton's music, download away.

We are just trying to help, Elton.

Shaddup and don't sing, Elton, if that's your real name!

If I recall correctly, his real name is Reginald Dwight.

Dear Elton,

May I call you Elton? Sir sounds so formal considering I feel I've known you for years. My name is Lisa. I was one of your fans in the 70s-early 80s. I am one of the reasons you are so FABULOUSLY wealthy right now. I bought your records and 8-tracks by the dozen.

So Elton, let's talk. There is a new phenomenon that you may want to become familiar with. I like to call it the UN-silent Majority. That means, (and listen carefully) that the little people, some of which contributed to your vulgar wealth, are actually allowed to speak their minds and make a difference in OUR own country. Imagine that!

And Elton, if you want to blame someone for the recent turn of events....don't blame our wonderful government. Blame me, and others like me. We, the God-fearing, flyover country, "little people" have become activists, willing to stand up for what we believe in.

And please stop playing the censorship card. It's getting tired, and not many people are buying it anymore. Not unlike your music.

So dear Elton, I leave you with this parting shot..."WE'RE HERE, WE'RE CONSERVATIVE ACTIVISTS, GET USED TO IT!!!"

Regards,

Lisa

Anita Bryant....I'm sure Elton remembers her well.....

Maybe the climate is such now that she can actually "come out" and speak her opinion without being stoned by the media?
