I noticed my search panel got changed to DRSN Search without my permission. This thing also blocks my customize page by bringing up search site DRSN Search again. I would like the DRSN sevice removed so that I can use the service I want. Also please close my Freerepublic account whereas I only opened it to get rid of this service I did not request. Thank you.

It sounds to me like you may need to improve your understanding of the mechnics involved in using computers on the internet.
Your computer is infected with "malware/spyware". It has hijacked your browser and probably changed at least one registry setting. Get Ad Aware and Spybot. Run both to remove the spyware. That should solve your problem.
FreeRepublic has nothing to do with your problems.

Someone has to tell you so it may as well be me. Actually, you've stumbled upon the FR spy-ware, better known as the "Damned Robinsons Say No" search feature.
Don't worry about it -- it's harmless. You'll be fine as long as you don't have any of that 'crop circle' crap on your hard drive.
