The roots of gun control are racist, so I applaud the move. White men are a shrinking demographic in America and in order to secure the Second Amendment for posterity, we have to bring minorities on board. That will make it harder for the libs to stereotype gun owners as a bunch of rednecks driving a pickup truck with a Confederate Flag painted on the roof.

Doesn't matter if she were black but it might help. I usually am strictly against selecting folks because of their gender/racial profile, but I think having a woman, (as long as she is not the shrill type) makes the civil rights movement more accessible to those that might be influenced by left-wing hate groups.
The black community has historically been the target of gun control laws and today is the group most affected by being held defensless.
An emphasis on "civil rights" whether targeted to blacks or all Americans is politically better promoted.
