MEDIA SHELTERING SANDY

Notice how Sandy Berger is nowhere to be found on the front page these days? Just like that, the story is off the front page. Now you see it, now you don't. A blatant example of media bias if there ever was one, but they're getting more and more blatant about it.
A quick check of CNN.com has no stories on the front page about Berger. ABC, CBS..nothing. Now, just for a minute...ask yourself this: what if Condoleezza Rice had been the one to do this? What if she had gone into that secured room at the National Archives, left with top-secret documents, and smuggled notes out in her whatever?
You would not hear the end of it....and it would still be front page news, right now. As it is now, the media is protecting one of their own...and that means pulling the plug on any coverage of the Sandy Berger affair.
Thankfully, the Justice Department isn't giving up so easily. You're probably going to see Berger arrested and brought up on charges.

I just don't see berger being sentenced for anything. This will go away and nothing will come of it.

Berger should be in jail.

You want to know how freaking serious this is? You can judge by how hard the lamestream tries to spin/bury. The harder, more desperately they try, the worse the situation has to be. If the Today show's behavior on this subject is anything to go by, this mess is catastrophic.

I couldn't belive (yes I could) that the 7 a.m. intro headline for the Today show was the Lori Hacking Missing story and not 9-11 Commission, Democratic Convention or Sandy Berger......
To: cardinal4
"I'll bet the Grand Jury hasnt even been convened..", According to Pete Williams of NBC news earlier this week, a Grand Jury is investigating.
To: jocko12
At a very minimum, he should be charged and have court dates pending.

Boortz makes an excellent point. 24 hour coverage for weeks and weeks on the 'horrible travesties' that occured in Abu Grab (sic) prison EVEN THOUGH there was nothing new to report and yet berger's alleged ransacking of the National Archives merits a couple of days at the most. I hate the media.
To: preacher
The Berger story is all but gone today. The media are doing their best to bury the story.
If the Bush admin would declassify the after action report things would get hot.
But I don't expect a perp walk ever.

Well, well. I didnt know this. That would mean the Justice Department is doing something other than arresting Tommy Chong. The theft of classified documents is one thing, what happened to them is another. Who saw them? Who told him to do it?

I've been frustrated by this too, but I got to thinking. Nobody has a picture taken with the minnow they put on the hook to reel in the big one that gets the photo op in the end.
Too often, Clinton was very effective at making the story about someone else....Susan McDougal, Monica Lewinsky, Hillary Clinton, Vince Foster, Al Gore, etc.
Maybe Berger is the minnow.

Look at the advertisers in the big city Democrat enclaves -- boys briefs, girls underwear, and car dealers. When was the last time one saw guns and camping advertisers.

Much to the chagrine of the media, Berger will, in my opinion, be charged and convicted. It may even be proven that the inadvertantly stolen documents were shared with the Kerry campaign. Now wouldn't that be a hoot?

Geepers. How can this be? I thought that W leaked the Berger thing to the press to deflect attention from the skewering the White House would take from the 9/11 report?

I hate the media. The problem is with the Stupid Party (Republicans). They/We haven't designated a relay of taking heads to saturate the media with speculation & innuendo. This is how the Evil Party (Democrats) play the game.
If this was Condi Rice you'd see every talking head from James Carville to Maddie Albright out there -- each taking a slightly different tack -- but all coordinated in their messages.
