Group Fights Random Bag Inspection at DNC

Posted on 07/27/2004 8:36:15 AM PDT by trublu

The National Lawyers Guil is one of two civil rights groups to file a lawsuit in federal court to stop the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority from randomly inspecting passengers' bags, saying it's an unconstitutional violation of personal privacy.

Does anyone know if John Edwards belongs to this group or ih he supports the lawsuit?

Yet members of the National Lawyers Guild will be the first to sue the police/security should one of those uninspected bags contain a bomb that injures a delegate.

Problem is, I just don't think people care anymore. The duplicity of the Dems just doesn't register, and when something goes wrong they blame it all on the GOP and the "rich" anyhow.

And if a bomb blows up, they'll sue the same group for not protecting them.

The National Lawyers Guild is a group of left-wing activists. I doubt that Edwards is a member.

Why bother? All the really nasty protesters want Kerry to win. They aren't Boston, they are practising for NYC. There will be more kerrorists in NYC than there are in Teheran!

I doubt whether any mainstream politicians are members.

That said, even broken clocks are right twice a day.

I agree with the National Lawyers' Guild. Instead of searching bags randomly, they should search the bags of anyone with an Islamic name and use other non-PC identifiers to find the people most likely to pack something.

Meanwhile, the rest of us should continue to have our bags and shoes, etc. ex-rayed.

The National Lawyers Guild is a longtime hard left, and sometime communist front, organization. I doubt that John Edwards has anything to do with it. However, in all fairness the American Trial Lawyers Association is far more dangerous than the Guild, and Edwards is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ATLA.

The policies of the Guild are, of course, far more dangerous on paper. But the Guild consists of a small number of aging commies, sitting around in a cheap room. The ATLA, on the other hand, is large, well-funded, and on the attack against the American economy in courtrooms all across the country.
