A group of former sailors who served with John Kerry in Vietnam maintain that the democratic candidate for the US presidency greatly exagerated his war exploits, and in many cases accuse him of utter falsification. As reported in the Washington Times website, the veterans declare that of the 23 swift boat crewmembers photographed with Kerry 30 years ago, just one supports his candidacy.
They announced the beginning of an official propaganda action, "Sailor-veterans for truth", in which they will tell the public what Kerry really did in Vietnam.
One sailor-veteran, John O'Neill, who replaced Kerry as commander of the boat, has written a book which refutes the tales of Kerry's wartime service. For example, he asserts that the wounds for which Kerry was awarded two "Purple Heart" medals were received not as a result of enemy fire, but because of fire from their own forces.
Besides this, retired Vice-Admiral Roy Hoffmann, who commanded the operating group in which Kerry served, refutes yet another war story. Kerry talks about one of the cases in which he warned the high command about a poorly planned operation. Hoffmann says that he was at the meeting, and in reality Kerry didn't utter a single word.
A book by the name of "Not fit for command: veterans against John Kerry" will go on sale September 25th. The book is already on the best-seller list at Amazon.com and is in second place.

A soldier who earned his meals with blood never will toss them about. Those that toss them about are the ones that got them for nothing
