Im gonna buy a few more Bush T-shirts.

It's pretty plain to me that it's a different logo.

There's no way this will succeed.

That takes some nerve, laying claim to the letter "W". And I've never heard of Starwood Hotels before. I have heard of George W. Bush. And why would Starwood use a "W" anyway? Why not an "S"?

You cannot copyright numbers, or single letters of the alphabet.

How long has Starwood used the new logo? The "W" has been used by Bush since 1999, if not earlier going back to Texas.

Plus, it's a different use. If Bush was into hotel chains, perhaps there would be an issue.

Listen carefully: I hereby copyright the letters A through V and X, Y, Z! Sorry folks, can't use them anymore.

Even if the font of the W were exactly the same, there's no possibility that anyone would mistake "W Motels Worldwide" for "W the President." They're just trying to generate publicity for their business. It'll be tossed. Besides, they should beware of alienating all the Dubya supporters.

Starwood Hotels is owned by the Ziff brothers... Including Dirk Ziff, a billionaire Manhattan democratic socialite...

Not surprising.

(Their father founded Ziff Davis Press and sold it off, gave his sons some serious dough -- they then started Ziff Brothers Investment... Located in the old Citicorp building... The one with the slanted roof featured on drudge recently as being under terror threat)

That does it. The Bush/Cheney sticker comes off the car tomorrow. The W-04 sticker goes on. Starwood can, uh, "SHOVE IT." (and aren't they Linda Ronstadt's new best friend?)

LOL. I thought Sesame Street had the copyrights on all the letters?

This post is brought to you by the letter "A"

My email to Starwood:

I can't believe that you jerks are suing the President for using his own middle initial. You are either idiots, extremely partisan, or both. Either way, I will never spend another night at your hotels. Do not bother to reply to this email. A copy of this email and any reply will be posted publicly in conservative internet forums for the consideration of thousands of readers.

This is even more stupid than FNC suing Stewart Smalley last year. Not by much, though.

Sure this story is not from the "Onion"?

There are some things you can not copyright, why do you think there are so many brand names spelled "funny", such as STARZ movie channel?"

I thing this Hotel chain (if real, and I have not conceded that yet) is looking for free advertisement
