Looks like a little bit of strongarming going on here... no surprise... Sorry I don't have more concrete info. I'm sure we'll get some soon in which case we can link to it in this thread.

Typical liberal. Kerry can dish it out but he can't take it. Yes, he must be terrified of the swift boat vets' ad because it's TRUE. If he sues radio stations, that will backfire in a big way, because Americans don't like censorship combined with abuse of power. If Kerry starts suing radio stations for running this ad, his campaign is going to implode (if it hasn't already)!

THE RNC ON THE SWIFT BOAT VET AD [08/05 02:45 PM]

Just chatted with Christine Iverson, spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, about the Swift Boat Vets ad:

Iverson: "It is important to remember that we have never and will never question John Kerry's service in Vietnam. The Democrats may try to claim otherwise, but that is not the case. We have questioned his statements on war on terrorism, but not his service in Vietnam."

Kerry Spot: What about the anti-war protests afterwards?

Iverson: "We have not questioned his service in Vietnam. We're focusing on his inability to explain his vote on the $87 billion and his changing stand on the Iraq war."

Kerry Spot: Um, when you say "his service in Vietnam" is that a blanket term that includes his anti-war protests after he served?

Iverson: "I don’t know that we’ve ever discussed that. The issue that Democrats don’t want to discuss is his voting record. They didn’t want to discuss before the convention, during the convention, and after the convention. The real question is, 'why is John Kerry running away from his own voting record?"

For awhile I was concerned that the commercial and book would backfire. If this report is true, I'm not concerned anymore.

This is/would be the stupidest thing that they could do. It would be like Bush sueing CNN for running a clip of Al Gore shouting, “He betrayed this country!” It just pushed it to the top of every newscast around the world. Nice work guys…

Maybe they want a gag-order to stop the commericals or any discussion about his record until the trial.

What were the reasons? Illegal use of images or video? Slander? What?

This is just the preview of what's going to happen the day after the election, no matter how large a margin Bush wins by.

I dont understand the difference between the Swiftboat ad, which is NOT being endorsed by elected officials, and F911 in which elected officials(read democrats) commented on a private screening..

I've been waiting for this and am surprised kerry didn't similarly threaten the authors of the prior and upcoming books revealing his actions. Says how much he knows the visual media is a killer on such issues.

I am also pretty darn sure the Swift Boat Vets for Truth have had long and consequence-laden discussions with a battery of attorneys, excellent legal minds, about what they would be facing if they stepped into the limelight to expose the slime. IMO, they are acting with equal, though a different form of, courage compared with 'nam.

And if kerry wants to bring it on, I believe he'll regret it, because these guys outnumber him and the mood of the country has been changed since he "testified" before the US Senate in 1971. Kerry doesn't seem to have comprehended the depth of the change or what it means. Or that his Senatorialness won't protect him in a lawsuit THIS big if he initiates it.

Something tells me the Swiftees are hankering for their day in court if it comes to that.

You can Email them here to advise of your support: Latch@SwiftVets.com

Have these guys ever heard of free speech????

I guess no one is allowed to talk except them. If he can prove the Swift Boat ad is slander (untrue), go ahead and sue.

First the NASA photos . . . now threatening TV stations. Are they going to threaten amazon.com next?

Only moveon.org and Michael Moore should allowed to talk (and spread every untruth and smear they can think of.)

Kerry/Edwards - you are idiots!

And this Dem group from Congress complaining that FOX News is biased. Just 'cause they don't follow the party line. LOL

Somebody is getting desperate!!!

Hey, Bill and Hill, your house of cards if falling.

Lawsuits and the threat of lawsuits was one of the principle means by which the Roman Republic was destroyed.

You could look it up.
