British move to allow abortion at home

WOMEN could be able to carry out do-it-yourself abortions in their own homes from next month.

The proposal, which has provoked fury from pro-life campaigners, is being put forward by Britain's largest chain of abortion clinics.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service believes women should be allowed to take the abortion pills, which effectively cause a miscarriage, in private.

It suggests they could then flush the fetal remains down a toilet or return them to a clinic for incineration.

Campaigners warned of potential dangers in using the pill and said it also fostered a more casual approach to ending the life of an unborn child.

The abortion pill method - which involves taking two pills two days apart - requires no surgery and makes terminations easier and faster.

It is available to women up to nine weeks' pregnant if two doctors have certified they can use it.

Both pills have to be administered in a hospital or clinic, but BPAS wants women to be allowed to take the first pill in one of its clinics and the second at home.

Such terminations are available in the US and France, where BPAS says there is evidence that they are safe and popular. The clinics' chief executive Ann Furedi said the scheme would "give women more control over their own abortion" and allow the most traumatic part of the procedure to take place in familiar surroundings.

"They can use their own bathroom. The procedure becomes more normal," she said. But Nuala Scarisbrick, a trustee of the pro-life charity Life, said: "This method of abortion would be one of the most unpleasant because responsibility for administering the second drug is their own.

"They are fully conscious at the time and it must be trying and very psychologically difficult. It is unbelievably callous.

"Women will be bleeding heavily and passing the remains of what they know is a baby. It will be frightening."

BPAS says the Government is "actively considering" its proposal and expects it to be given the go-ahead next month. If it is refused, the group may launch a legal challenge, arguing that the Government is denying women easy and safe terminations for political rather than medical reasons. - Daily Mail

A woman who wasn't smart enough to use birth control in the first place is suppose to know how to properly take abortion pills and deal with the excessive bleeding and other complications later?

(Yes, I know that birth control sometimes fail, but most abortions are because of caelessness.)

"Who cares how many women and girls die from bleeding and infections? Let's just make sure we kill more babies!"

And I wonder what will happen when Britain reaches a Moslem majority?

,,, this is just the start. In time, something this pitiful and depraved will create a legacy of reality TV educationals and a need for psychologists that we can't imagine at this point in time.

Yes. More of us should be considering those likelyhoods for strategic purposes.
