TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's Defense Ministry on Wednesday carried out a field test of the newest version of its Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missile, state television reported.
Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani said earlier this month Iran was working on improvements to the range and accuracy of Shahab-3, which defense experts say Tehran could use to strike arch-foe Israel or U.S. military bases in the Gulf.
This ties in well with our discussion last night about Iran telling the EU to go F*** itself concerning their nuclear weapons program.
HI Yoni,
Good to see you
What's the range of a Shahab-3 ?
''not only in range but also in other areas''.
What "other areas"??
Possible range may be from 1,500 to 2000kms-goes down well with the taepo dongs which North Korea sells these guys & Pakis who only have to paint it green, read the manual(translated via the Chinese embassy) & launch!!!!could hit vital targets in Israel,Turkey & whichever you choose.
Improvements could possibly be to the warhead size(upto 1 ton) & the fact that they have been acting cocky of late suggests that they're probably in reach of a miniaturised nuke warhead.Another improvement could be in its solid fuel propulsion systems, enabling much faster launch & less maintainance.Accuracy would probably never be a pre-requisite given that the fact it will probably be outfitted with nukes or chem/bio warheads.
Regardless, Israel is in a position to shoot it down. I would not be suprised if Israel alread has a satellite that is tracking what goes on in and near Iran.
We allow this to continue at our own peril.
What would be really cool is when Iran launches the missile to test, we shoot it down. As a test....

Tel Aviv, Israel, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Pictures of the new version of Iran's Shehab-3 surface-to-surface missiles show it has been greatly upgraded, Haaretz newspaper reported Monday.
Iran has just put a big bull's eye on the center of their country. If Israel doesn't take out Iran's nuclear weapons program, we will have to. We will not be able to turn a blind eye to a radical Islamic country with nukes with the range to hit Israel
