Voting twice brings price
Appleton mans primary votes lead to charge
By Dan Wilson Post-Crescent staff writer
APPLETON An Appleton man who said he didnt think he was doing anything illegal has been charged with voter fraud for voting twice in the states spring primary election.
Michael R. Howard, 20, 1036 E. Moorpark Ave., has been summoned for an initial appearance Sept. 9 in Outagamie County Circuit Court.
Voter fraud is a felony in Wisconsin and carries a maximum penalty of 42 months of prison and a $10,000 fine.
According to the complaint filed Tuesday, Howard, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, had asked for and received an absentee ballot from the Appleton city clerk. The complaint alleges Howard also registered and voted in Eau Claire on April 6.
Howard allegedly told Appleton police he was unaware that he couldnt vote twice in the same election, the complaint said.
He further indicated that although he was attending college in Eau Claire, that he had never been informed in any of his civics classes that he could not vote twice in the same election, the officers report said.
The clerks caught this one somehow, said Outagamie County Assistant Dist. Atty. John Daniels.

That's confidence-inspiring.
Practice.
Why ship one idiot off to prison because his no doubt liberal teacher told him "Vote early and often" when you have the Daley gang in Chicago, the RAT wards in Philly with over 100% turnout, judges in St. Louis ordering polls to stay open for 3 more hours, and of course, the clowns in Palm Beach County?
In Chicago, he would be charged with under-voting.
Joe Citizen who is being encouraged by party hacks to participate in vote fraud will be much harder to convince if he sees some people's lives being wrecked.
For voter fraud, one year and $1K.
For insulting our intelligence, two years and $9K.
Sentences to be served consecutively.
Especially in South Dakota where Thune lost by a few hundred fraudulent voters from the Indian reservations.
Hmmmn.
Do we have to ask which party he was voting for?
(WI, college student, too stupid to learn how to vote, thinks a "civics class" would be needed to tell him NOT to vote twice....)
Oh, yeah. Voting fraud is a felony, which means Mr. Howard will never vote again. The democrats are deeply saddened.
/lurker mode off
I heard about Marquette University students bragging to a TV station in 2000 about vitiong for Gore repeatedly.
Certainly they could find a few of their hijinks and prosecute.

I was born in Appleton. The Great Harry Houdini was not born there, but grew up there as a youngster.
I like to say that Houdini and I have both performed one of the greatest feats in the world: getting the h@ll out of Appleton alive.

THIS IS SOOOOOOOO TRUE!!!
"He must have been sleeping in class."
More likely that he was awake when the prof encouraged the class to do it.
Here in Anderson, Indiana, we've had two people prosecuted for voter fraud within the last year, and the local fish-wrap (the Anderson Herald-Bulletin) has yet to print their party of registration. (psst! That means they be Democrats, at least around here)
No party affiliation noted - must have been a dem.
Probably a RAT "dry run" to test the defenses. They want to see where the polling place weaknesses are prior to 2 November.
If the media doesn't pick up on this story 'no one' is going to know it is illegal.
Dead indians will find a way to the polls. Ya just can't stop 'em.
