Don't know that I'd have applied if I were the daughter of a billionaire, but I'm glad that the Fulbright Scholarship is completely merit based as opposed to the usual needs-based philosophy.

And of course her dad being a prominent Senator had nothing at all to do with it....

Looks like 1 of every 4.5 applicants gets it, so once you make the application standards your chances seem pretty good of getting a scholarship.
