Is this even showing up on anybodies radar screen out side of the pro-second amendment community and the gun control crowd? Is gun control even in the top 20 issues for this campaign? Heck, even the mainstream liberal media isn't even talking about this. I imagine it will make the news cycle for about a day on September 13th when it expires.( and it WILL expire on the 13th since the house hasn't even taken up the issue AND has no plans to AND they are in recess until September 8th.)In a week after it expires it will be totally forgotten as an issue by the "average" American.

No. I talk to plenty of gun owners who've never even heard of the AWB. That tells me that the large majority of the general population have no clue such a thing even exists.

80 million gun owners. Damn right there would be a "backlash". When we all go to the polls and vote for the President for four more years.

Those in the "gun culture" are the single largest "swing vote" out there as Bush the Elder got to find out.
