WWE wrestlers going to the Republican National Convention

--The WWE will be sending John Layfield, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Big Show, Mark Henry, Ivory, Chris Nowinski and Linda McMahon to the Republican convention. I guess they didn't get any pub sending Stacy Keibler, but there were some mentions of Big Show in papers at the Democratic convention so they decided to send two 400 pound monsters this time. The convention is in New York starting Thursday.

Professional Wrestling Industry 101

- Penn State is now offering a class on pro-wrestling. Here is an excerpt from their course schedule, which appeared in ESPN Magazine:

Penn State University: PSU 003: First Year Seminar-Professional Wrestling Industry 101: 1 Credit

"Seminar facilitates student's adjustment to college life. Topics range from Gorgeous George to the National Wrestling Alliance to Vince McMahon's attempt to nationalize the wrestling industry. Text is Captain Lou Albano's The Complete Idiot's Guide to Professional Wrestling. Homework includes watching Raw on Monday nights and making weekly visits to various wrestling websites.

Instructor David Parry: "An introduction to college life ought to mean studying something useful. That's why I teach pro wrestling."

Reminder: This Monday Night on RAW is the wedding between Lita and Kane. It should be something to remember (sniff)

At least Ivory will help doll things up a bit.

I watched a story on Brock Lesnar tonight on ESPN.He gave up a multi-million dollar deal with WWE to play football. He signed a $230,000 contract with the Vikings so he could be home for his 2 year old daughter. I'm impressed with his story.

I hope John Layfield is pulled back, the last thing the GOP needs is him and the recent controversy he caused being brought up.

I DID find it interesting that most of the attendees are "heels" in the WWE.

He's a big-business capitalist who surrounds himself with the finest female specimens on the planet...I think the answer's pretty obvious!

RICK FLAIR IS A GOD IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!!

During the 92 campaign, I remember seeing a news item about George H.W. Bush at a rally in North Carolina. They showed a clip of the elder Bush speaking to the crowd. sitting on stage behind the President was Ric Flair.

Bill Goldberg left WWE after Wrestlemania XX and is not on very good terms with Vince McMahon. He's not working for any U.S. wrestling promotion right now. He does some work in Japan and has some other interests in the states.

It also ensures good (and free) publicity on Raw and Smackdown which is important. Unless of course the Kerry campaign goes to court to try to stop this.

Vince is a registered Independent. His wife Linda is a Republican.

Well, I'll be open and flexible to it. Big tent thing, and all that. At least, I would rather have professional wrestlers with necks of tree trunks up there on the dais, rather than a gay marriage ceremony, if it comes to showing "diverrrrrrrsity".
