I just received this email from a dear family friend who operates a sidewalk counseling group in Glendale, CA.
Hello, everyone!
I've been speaking to an unmarried woman in her mid-30s, in her fourth month with a Downs Syndrome Baby. She has an aborton scheduled.
She has relented, and given us a few days to see if there is a family out there who wants to adopt her special-needs baby. Her family is totally against the abortion, and wants her to adopt the baby out. Mom was very insistent on going ahead with the abortion, so this respite of a few days buys us time.
Do you know of anyone right now ready to adopt a special-needs baby? It is probably better if they have gotten their home study or are in the process. We need to have this woman speak to people who can take action now and convince her that her baby is wanted. If you don't know of any families, pls keep us all in prayer. I thank God we've been given this time to help her.
Thank you all.

If you are serious and would like to call, please freepmail me for her phone number.
Please pray for this little person facing incredible odds who has been given a brief second chance at life.
I don't know of anyone....!!!
You other two, do you? Or will you at least ping some folks?
I strongly recommend that she contact Exceptional Childrens Foundation in Los Angeles. I don't know that they have an adoption program, per se, but they might be able to guide her toward a non-abortive resolution. I worked for them many years ago and still hold their organization in the highest regard.
Pinging Californians..!!
The Gladney Center for Adoption out of Fort Worth, Texas also is very reputable. We are currently going through the adoption process with this agency. They have been around for 125 years and average placing 360 babies a year. They have a list of people who are waiting for special needs children.
Your ping list, PLEASE?!
I sent the link to the mailing list I freepmailed you about.
Why not give birth to it and if no one wants it, you can kill it?
We come in defense of Your child, still in the womb, but nonetheless YOURS. Your Word tells us that You know this child, that You have formed his inward parts and have knit him together in his mother's womb. O Lord, we pray that You would touch the heart of this mother to offer five more months of her life so that this little one may live. Father, if perfection were the requirement for life, then none of us would live. Merciful Lord, please help this woman to choose life for her child. Grant that Your people would spread this request far and wide, for surely You have already identified just the right parents to love and be blessed by this precious little one. O God, truly THEY will be the ones blessed by this life. THEY will be the ones blessed by You, and by respecting Your precious creation, this biological mother will be blessed by knowing that she did what is right. Hear us, Great God. You are able to provide everything that is needed. Thank You for allowing the time for Your people to do that which is right. Bless those who counsel the mothers. We know You have just the right answer. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Will you please pray in defense of this unborn child? Thank you?
I've sent a copy of this post to a website about Down Syndrome kids. Please, St. Therese of Lisieux, who promised to shower the earth with roses, hear this plea from Circle of Roses in Glendale. Ask God to touch the heart of this woman and keep her from aborting. Amen.
Know of any attorneys in the area who handle private adoptions? They usually have a long waiting list of prospective parents.
Jerry Johnson in Lima, OH used to do so, for example. (I'm no longer sure if he still does.)
Ping in hopes you have some leads.
Good g-d, was that necessary!!!!!!!!
Irony is that way. The person wants to kill their child.
Go away, you are certainly NOT part of the solution. But I guess that's your game.
Last weekend at the national conference in Minn, I met a wonderful lady who adopted 3 babies with DS and another family who adopted 1 DS baby while they had a son with DS already.
I will pray for the child.

Do you know of anyone who can help?
Praying for this precious little one.
I know of several families that adopt special needs babies. Downs Syndrome is the most sought after special needs baby with many families waiting to adopt them.
May God's will be done in the life of this precious one.
