'Prevention is the key' (Thereza under the radar)
Martinsburg Journal ^ | 8/26/2004 | Matthew Umstead- Journal Staff Writer

MARTINSBURG - The wife of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. John F. Kerry took notes and asked questions Tuesday in a women's health care forum here that was practically devoid of political rhetoric.

"I'm not shy about discussing the issues," Teresa Heinz Kerry said after taking part in the discussion on the medical campus of City Hospital in Martinsburg.

In remarks to a friendly audience of about 75 health care professionals and area Democratic Party leaders at the Dorothy A. McCormack Cancer Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, Heinz Kerry did not mention her husband's opponent once, also noting afterward she was not the hand-shaking type of campaigner.

But she did make a second appearance at the Entler Hotel in Shepherdstown after the forum to thank about 130 area supporters before returning to the Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport bound for Philadelphia.

"I can tell you this, we're going to be back," said West Virginia Campaign Director Terri J. Giles when asked if John Kerry or his running mate, John Edwards, would visit the region.

You don't need to read it all. I only posted it, because there was no advance notice given for her visit. She just showed up, and took the floor, naturally.

When the President visited last week, he had crowds backed up on the interstate approaches to the parking area. There were more than 10,000 that were at the event, and one guy got hauled out, and subsequently got fired, for his heckling. His boss was embarassed, by the actions of his subordinate, as they were guests of a client! (Man fired for heckling Bush- http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/South/08/21/heckler.fired.ap/)

Now the Dims are trying to get his job back. It is the source of a front page poll. Please feel free to freep! http://www.journal-news.net/

She has definitely been under the radar of late -- she's almost as much an embarassment to Kerry as his lies.

I have no doubt that they have placed her as the "bag lady", and shoved her off to wherever, without warning anybody but the moneyfolk!

I would have been more than happy to sponsor a proper greeting party for her! I would have covered myself with HUNT's ketchup!, and Lea and Perrins Worchestershire, and topped it with my CIA spy hat!!!!

Whoa! A whole 205 people!

I think that's the idea! Keep her away from common people. The 130, in Shepardstown, were BIGGGGG donors!

The local paper said she was coming several days before she showed up.
