For many local minorities, this summer will probably see the loss of an established and respected voice, the 37-year-old Urban Coalition. For Mexican immigrants in the state, however, this summer has brought an unprecedented spike in national and international focus, since Mexican president Vicente Fox announced in June that Minnesota would be the next state to host a Mexican consulate.
For Fox, the first Mexican head of state to visit the region, the trip was intended not only to strengthen trade relations between Mexico and Minnesota, but also to strengthen his connection to Minnesotas roughly 96,000 Mexican immigrants.
Minnesotas mainstream population may find it hard to realize the impact a consulate would have on Minnesotas Mexican community, who turned out in such force to see Fox that he made his announcements in Spanish instead of English as planned.
Immigration is referred to as the black hole, in the sense that its so complicated and complex, explained Claudia Fuentes, executive director of the Minneapolis-based Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment

He's more than happy to visit them and address their problems when they're living in the US, because he knows he's not picking up the tab. His entire program to reduce poverty in Mexico has been to pave the way for the immigrants to go north. He couldn't care less about the poor who intend to stay in Mexico.
All Minnesotans, come to Los Angeles and see what Mr. Fox's people have done to us.
The entire state of California is sinkhole de mayo.
Importation of poverty. Your tax dollars at work.
Learn to read, speak, and comprehend English and about 95% of the ambiguity vanishes. POOF!
Yeah. Fox announced OUR SSI admin would soon make it where Mexicans - legal and illegal would be tapping SSI for benefits.
Get this - a week later, the SSI admin made an "announcement" parroting Fox. US taxpayers were the LAST ones to hear about this act of treason.
Fox has our President in his hip pocket and unfortunately he's either too ignorant or too blind to see it or he's purposely trying to turn America into a surburb of Mexico.
Indiana got theirs last year.
As the prevailing winds blow from west to east, the folks in the east are finally getting a taste of this government approved invasion of millions.
Welfare recipients, higher taxes, school overload, medical facility closure, disease, ignorance, loss of American culture, etc. etc. etc.
Check out the picture in this link --- believe it or not it's California --- but it could easily be any high immigrant area:

Report: 1.3 million more Americans in poverty
The center's analysis of the census figures found that the number of people living in extreme poverty, with incomes of less than half the poverty threshold, jumped by by 1.2 million to 15.3 million people. And the group said the share of national income going to the bottom 20 percent of the population fell to the lowest level since the government began collecting the data in 1967.
You guys should come to California to see your future.
Welfare recipients, higher taxes, school overload, medical facility closure, disease, ignorance, loss of American culture, etc. etc. etc.
You got that right. People living in garages, overcrowded rental units, (50 in a 1 bedroom apartment).
Some of these places have been blessed with refugees from parts of the world, like somalians who practice female mutilation, and other barbaric rituals like that.
Praise Allah and pass the guacamole!
You forgot PERMANTENT DEMOCRATIC MAJORITIES.
