A rally is planned by the Teaneck Peace and Justice Coalition (TPJC), to be held this Sunday, Aug. 29 from 9:30-10:30am by the flag pole on the Teaneck Town Green at the corner of Cedar Lane and Teaneck Rd. They will be gathering to board buses to go to an anti-Bush rally in NYC.
We will hold a counter-rally to support the President, also from 9:30-10:30am at the same location in Teaneck. You can park in the municipal lot in front of the library.
Many of you have never been to a political rally. If you have strong political convictions, spending 30 or 60 minutes at a local rally can be an exhilarating experience. It really is fun to meet your neighbors who share the same concerns. A lot of people are away so if you are in town, please try to make it.
The most important thing is to just be there. We want to have a crowd to show how strongly we feel about supporting the Republican Party and the President.
The TPJC has been quite active in Teaneck, protesting the war in Iraq and virtually all of President Bush’s policies to protect this country from terrorism. Their website links to the pro-terrorist Al-Jazeera network as an "information" source, and MoveOn.org, the website that ran an ad comparing Bush to Hitler.
There may be Bush-bashing and hostility to Republicans at this event, which is all the more reason we must show up in force. Their permit says they plan for 100 people. We must have more than that! There are plenty of people in Teaneck and the surrounding areas that support President Bush and his steadfast leadership in the War on Terror. Let's show them!
Please contact me at shes@teaneckgop.com to let me know how many of you are coming, but please show up anyway if you don’t reach me. I will be there with you! I'll have Bush-Cheney signs. Wear any Bush or Republican apparel you have.
The town authorities have been notified that we will be there. Check for any last minute instructions at the website TeaneckGOP.com We need people with cameras, and it would be helpful for someone to videotape the event, particularly what the TPJC speakers say.
I look forward to seeing you at the rally, and, of course, at the party for the President on September 2.
