GOP platform pushes amnesty
NJ.com ^ | 8/29/04 | Paul Mulshine

If there are any deluded souls out there who still believe George W. Bush is a conservative, I invite them to examine the 2004 Republican Party platform on the issue of amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Bush is for it. That makes him a liberal. Worse, he proclaims that the amnesty is not an amnesty. So he is not only a liberal, but a liar as well.

I wasn't chosen to be on the platform committee, to my great dismay.

I have no 'candidate for President' as I am not a political party, nor am I eligible to run.

For crips sakes, when are the majority of people going to wise up to this government approved insanity?

Last night I had dinner with 5 other people. Massachusetts Liberals. (Better than the South Beach Diet. Nobody could eat.) We agreed on one thing: stop the illegals, it is ruining our country. I was surprised.

I realize that neither will seal the borders, and that W is the lesser of two evils on this issue. And my point wasn't to say a Canadian crossing would be better, I just didn't think of it (should have though, because Islamos are intimidating the rest of the country into submission up there).

I just wish someone in charge would buy a clue and do something about the immigration mess.

"Seal the borders. Deny illegals anchor baby status and taxpayer handouts. Temporary moratorium on legal immigration. How hard can this be?"

So you want a President who will violate the Posse Comitatus Act, and make the U.S. look and act like the old Soviet Union with military presence at every airport, beach, and border crossing, and a U.S. citizenry obligated to produce documents on the spot when approached by them. Who will redefine the 14th. Amendment of the Constitution in spite of the fact that the Constitution does not grant the Executive that power, and who will violate the constitutional principle of separation of powers by usurping the Congress' constitutional power to create laws.

No thanks, not here.

Immigration isn't a mess, people only make it seem that way when they bundle two issues into one; illegal aliens have nothing to do with immigration, and when you marry the subject of illegal aliens with immigration, you lose sight of the actual problem.

Seriously, last time I saw you, you were over at LP and banned from FR. Looks like you've been back for a while, but I had not run across you.

Welcome back.

I disagree. Immigration is a mess and our "Ole!" attitude towards illegals is a mess.

Someone who wants to come here, jump through all the hoops, and become a citizen shouldn't have to go through, what, 5 years to be a citizen. 2-3 in an accelerated program would seem to be plenty.

Someone who sneaks in and gets caught should be deported, period.

No doubt Jane. Even some of the leftist I speak with in Cal from time to time agree, this whole open border thing is hurting us *bad* not to mention the national security aspects.

We knew it was coming. Looks like sooner than later.

Who's in charge of the border? - anybody's guess.

This is bad. I was on a thread last night and there are many people not wanting to vote for the President because he hasn't closed the borders!

He may lose many more votes than he gains by not controling the borders and giving amnesty.

Luis, we have a pernicious, Democrat enabled "bondage by entitlement" fraud going on, the illegal immigration enabling being only the latest and most pernicious manifestation.

If "Welfare" or "Democrats" or "Judge Phazler" or any adult analysis of Bush's (or McCain/Kolbe/Flake) pragmatic "identification and temporary legal regularization" proposals were conducted here, I'd be a leading supporter and idea man. That's not the inent among the immigration gang, it's all ugly and negative and anti-Bush crapola and it has no place here.

I maintain, after long observation, that none of the normal anti-immigrant or anti-outsourcing crap around here is "News" in any way, shape or form ... but if the FR powers want it around they should open a new SubForum where the "Make the World Go Away" crew can bathe in their seige of immigration, outsourcing and global trade. I suggest we call it the "Kalaupapa" Forum.

It should be clear to all, both the beltway parties are undermining our borders and our sovereignty.

But don't it amaze you at the self denial so prevalent on this forum?

Nobody EVER said George W. Bush was a rock-ribbed, mossback hardshell conservative.

Nope, but he is proving to be the Globalist that I feared he was.

>>>

Sovereignty went away a long time ago. We're sooner to expand the enterprise zone on the border and patrol for illegals less than we are to actually see our security come first.

I say shoot illegal invaders on sight if they flee or resist and drop the bodies from 20,000 ft. onto Fox's residence down in Mexico...that would actually solve the problem, so we certainly can't do that...seriously, when the latino gang crime crawls into your town, you either lay down or put it down. Our government in a way gives more rights to the illegal invaders than to law-abiding American families...

Thanks. Jim reinstated me back about January, but I've been too busy on the trails to post as much as I used to do.

Tonight will be good -- a full moon, cloudless sky, and mild tempratures. That means the night vision and infrared cameras will be working splendidly.
