C-Span2 televised a series of panel conferences from authors on the right and the left who have recently written books on President Bush. The conservative conferences were interesting, but devoid, I thought, of anything approaching hysteria about the left's unyielding assaults on the president. They were just discussions from sober panelists, addressing various aspects of media bias and the like. But the liberal panel -- and I only watched parts of it -- featured New York Times Columnist Paul Krugman, New York liberal Mark Green, Sidney Blumenthal, and various others. I just want to call your attention to two comments, one by Mark Green and the other by Paul Krugman, that should give you some idea how pervasive the Bush hatred is among the left's intellectual elite.
First, I want to note how strikingly different the Bush supporters and the Bush haters view President Bush's character. http://www.davidlimbaugh.com/blog.aspx

I say that there is legitimate dissent and simple dislike of the President that I cannot denounce. I respect both opinions. What I don't respect are the untruths and exaggerations made about the President on purely partisan grounds.
There is plenty to dislike about John Kerry, especially when one always takes the side of one's own country during any time of war. That's human nature. Kerry has been a cheerleader for causes that our enemies celebrated. That's complicated, difficult to explain, and many of us still don't understand what he was doing and why. We're not exaggerating anything when we say that.
Caught part of the conservative portion of this discussion this afternoon on C-Span2 - didn't watch the leftwing portion because I don't need the aggravation - the conservative group - including Bob Barr, Brent Bozell, John Podheretz, Zell Miller, Hugh Hewitt, Linda Chavez, Cal Thomas, and a few others - is scheduled for repeat tonight at midnight and tomorrow morning at 9:00 (EDT) on C-Span2 - the leftwing group will be on again at 2:00 A.M., for those masochists among you.......
"It could be a long and ugly road to November."
That's right, Susan. Especially if we see your mug walking down it...
What gets me about the Dems is that they constantly talk about "lies", but seldom point them out or provide evidence to refute them.
Lies, lies, lies -- he's lying! About what? Pray, tell...
Dear Susan;
Susan, Susan, Susan. I think you are losing it. I just read your latest rant "Mad as Hell". I suppose everyone has their boiling point, even you. But your words scare me. I imagine your eyes bugging out and your nostrils flaring as you yourself venture down that long ugly road you so disdain. You remind me of the Ace Ventura movie where the kicker would not let go of his obsession over a missed field goal. That is you Susan, except your missed opportunity was Michael Dukakis.
Glenn said. "If you hear something repeated, repeated, repeated, repeated, you start to believe it."Really? It hasn't worked for Kerry, Kucinich, Moore, Dean... and now John Glenn, formerly a national hero, now just another party-above-all demagogue.
George W. Bush will win reelection by a margin of at least ten per cent.
This is going to be something to watch.
Hope I get a ringside seat!
Susan Ostrich, Dukakis, Tank. Nuff said.
I think Susan has been down that road and back again (:
Small problem, though. It didn't work for Bob Dole when he ran against Clinton in 1996 and it certainly will NOT work for Skerry in 2004.
Looking forward to seeing the Democrats implode when (not if) Bush wins reelection.
Nice post.
He will have to in order to overcome dim voter fraud.
I thought Dave Limbaugh was a lawyer, not a proctologist.
Lies, lies, lies -- he's lying! About what? Pray, tell...
Around the time of the "16 words" hoopla, I challenged a liberal coworker to give me an example of a Bush lie. She was so flustered! Other than the 16 words (which I kept reminding her were based in British intelligence that they still backed), she could not think of a single lie.
Not to mention in the SOTU President Bush said Saddam ahd been attempting to obtain uranium from AFRICA. Joe Wilson then dutifully went to NIGER at the behest of some still-unnamed bigwig at the CIA, drank mint tea for ten days, came back and called Bush a liar. Last time I checked there were a helluva lot more countries in Africa than Niger. Libya, for instance...
Wow, he's fast. I watched both panels too and was struck by exactly the same difference. I also couldn't get all the way thru the Leftwing panel. The vitriol gave me a headache.
