(blast from the past) Schippers: Clinton Witnesses Were Intimidated with Physical Threats

The House Judiciary Committee had credible evidence that witnesses against President Clinton were subject to threats of physical violence and other forms of intimidation, chief House impeachment counsel David Schippers revealed on Thursday. Schippers, author of "Sellout: The Inside Story of President Clinton's Impeachment," broke his silence on the intimidation tactics employed by the Clinton White House during an interview on WLAC radio's "Nashville This Morning," hosted by Steve Gill and Terry Hopkins.

SCHIPPERS: I came to the conclusion that the president's people would do anything it took to accomplish the purpose of maintaining power and obstructing justice so that, that poor woman down in Arkansas (Paula Jones) would be deprived of her constitutional right to a fair trial.

GILL: So the stories of threats and intimidation, of physical threats -- you don't have any problem believing these?

SCHIPPERS: None whatsoever.

GILL: Did you find any evidence in your investigation that these things actually happened?

SCHIPPERS: Yep. Yes, yes we did. And I'm sure that's part of the ongoing investigation.

GILL: The investigation being discussed by Independent Counsel (Robert) Ray?

SCHIPPERS: Right.

Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Liz Ward Gracen, Juanita Broaddrick and Sally Perdue -- women linked to Clinton through both consensual and nonconsensual sexual encounters -- have alleged over the last eight years that they were targets of everything from Clinton-inspired burglaries to IRS audits to death threats.

Gary Johnson, a neighbor of Flowers who claimed to have videotaped evidence of her relationship with Clinton, was severely beaten and left for dead just days before the 1992 Democratic convention.

Longtime Clinton critic Larry Nichols, who filed a landmark lawsuit in 1990 naming Flowers, Broaddrick and three other women linked to Clinton, was assaulted by a baseball bat-wielding thug outside his Arkansas home earlier this year.

Schippers, who got his start as a Chicago mob-buster working for Attorney General Robert Kennedy, told Gill and Hopkins that he uncovered the witness tampering evidence during a separate investigation launched by his committee, apart from the one undertaken by the Office of Independent Counsel.

While the secret evidence in the OIC probe is supposed to remain under seal untill the year 2049, Schippers is free to discuss material that he obtained independently.

No one was interested in this news before, and I doubt the MSM will give this book the time of day. Too bad...

I DO NOT BELIEVE IT.
Why, otherwise, one might also believe these hoodlums
might have misused the IRS, and stole FBI files, and even worse.

Notice the date on this August 2000. We seem to have a harder time letting it go. It is like the Florida recount (for conservatives), it is done and it did not work out the way we wanted but I don't plan on complaining about it for the next twenty years.

The House Judiciary Committee had credible evidence that witnesses against President Clinton were subject to threats of physical violence and other forms of intimidation, chief House impeachment counsel David Schippers revealed on Thursday.

And yet, they did NOTHING, NADA, ZIP.

Shall we also assume "threats of physical violence and other forms of "intimidation" were extended to HJC members as well?

And was it ever revealed just which personal FBI files were pilfered by Clinton surrogates?

The date doesn't matter. I tied this article into my timely article about Clinton's surgery. As he faces his mortality, will he repent? Most people would say NO.

"Notice the date on this August 2000. We seem to have a harder time letting it go."

Do you favor an 'expiration date' on provable extortion, murder, intimidation, obstruction of justice and treason facilitated by a U.S. President?"

Schippers was great during that whole episode, but his efforts were sold out by a sell-out group of Republican senators, many of whom, perhaps, due to FBI file blackmail. Just a bad time for America, and no, we won't forget about it, just because it was a few years ago.

Check out my home page. I have listed every offense committed by the Clintons that if they were convicted of any small portion they'd be in the hoosecow for life.

(254 crimes - so far) (Only 36 of them are for SEX)

Not even a comparison. Florida recount was a fraud. Schippers is not a fraud. This man and his woman screwed US over and over and over again.

Ask the Germans when they plan to "let go" about Stasi informants.

Why do people still accuse the repubs of SELLING-OUT ..?? It wasn't the repubs who refused to vote Clinton out of office .. IT WAS THE DEMOCRATS. I'm sick of repubs getting blamed for this.

The repubs knew the dems were going to be in lock-step and there was nothing they could do to stop it. That was the only reason the repub senators told the House it was useless to hold the trial. The fix was already in with the dems.

However, there are some interesting stats associated with impeachment that a lot of people don't know about. During impeachment, the media was constantly screaming at us that 75% of the American public DID NOT WANT CLINTON REMOVED FROM OFFICE. However, just ONE YEAR LATER .. that very same 75% had decided that CLINTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM OFFICE.
