Democrats Borrow Page From GOP Book
AP via Yahoo ^ | September 9, 2004 | NEDRA PICKLER

After weeks of Republicans questioning Sen. John Kerry's military service and fitness to be commander in chief, Democrats are employing the same tactics against President Bush.

The presidential nominee on Wednesday assailed the president's handling of the war in Iraq, the economy, health care and other issues, accusing the Republican incumbent of breaking his promises and sending the nation in the wrong direction. Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee made fresh allegations that Bush was AWOL for duty in the National Guard during the Vietnam War and a new independent group is airing an aid making the same point.

Unfreakinbelievable! Can anyone show me ONE instance of George Bush or Dick Cheney or The Republican National Committee questioning Kerry's service in Viet Nam?

How are Kerry's vicious attacks even remotely classified as a page out of the GOP handbook?

when moveon.org does it to GWB, it's a third party that has nothing to do with the dems or the kerry campaign. when the swiftees do it to kerry, it's that "vast right wing consiracy" again.

This story flopped like wet spaghetti. The 60 minutes piece was half hearted and CNN has stated on 2 shows it was not interested. Like they said, the voters made up their minds about this 4 years ago. This is the kind of issue that hurts an unknown candidate, not one that voters have known for 4 years and 2 wars.

I realize there's a "Speaking Truth To Power" exemption that all leftists enjoy, but I fail to see how it is a page from the GOP handbook.

The other day I ran across an old Time Magazine. The Whistleblowers were named "Person Of The Year". I'm guessing that the Swiftboat Veterans For Truth won't share that same classification or honor.

This idiot doesn't realize that the Dems started this topic months ago by attacking Bush's National Guard record. Or she doesn't care.

It's all over the mainstream media - and of course it is a complete lie. They are portraying this as a tit-for-tat as if the SBVfT being a mouthpiece for the RNC is a proven fact. It is really ridiculous.

This is a ridiculous comparison. Unlike Herr Kerry, President Bush hasn't made his military service from 35 years ago the exclusive cornerstone of his campaign. John Kerry, OTOH, did.

It's no surprise to me that the Leftist media is carrying water for Kerry on this count as well.

The AP is releasing all of its pro gay if not gay hacks to attack GW.

From Tom Hays to this nit, when you run Yahoo search on the hack plus the key word gay, you often end up with a decade of Gay agenda pushing via so called news articles.

Below is the Yahoo search on Nedra Pickler gay:

It's too bad the press can't do something journalistic like interview the Swiftboat Vets or crack open their book and see what it says instead of regurgitating DNC talking points.

Relax my friend for it is this political maneuvering by the Dem's that is helping to increase the Dubya poll numbers.

The biggest demise Dubya would confront is the sKerry team going into hiding and not communicating.

IMO either way the election IS going to be a landslide for Dubya.

You have to admit it's been a slow week for news. Other than three hurricanes, Clinton's heart surgery and Islamo-Fascist terrorists killing / maiming 1,000 school kids, there isn't much for Kerry to talk about EXCEPT rehashed allegations of George Bush's National Guard service.

At least Kerry's backed off his "My Pet Goat" smack.

Apart from the premise of the article being wrong (it is the AP--nothing unusual there), this article is completely frigging pointless.

There is a steady, daily stream of articles from the AP that just parrot whatever Kerry said about Bush that day. No real news, no real reporting, just basically relating to you what Kerry has said under the sort of "I'm just telling you what I heard" guise.

How in the hell can Nedra Pickles get paid for this? I mean, you wouldn't even have to leave your desk to write this. You wouldn't even have to call anyone. Just flip on the CBS evening news, transcribe it, remove all the bizzarre Ratherisms, and send it to the printers.

Hey Nedra! Nice of you to mention that John Kerry hasn't released all of his military records in your article. What? You didn't mention that? Why am I not shocked? And why hasn't the AP pressured Kerry to sign the Form 180 or sued?

Not to mention that the media seems to have collective amnesia that the RATs started smearing Bush about this charge both in the primaries, and in the 2000 election.

Case in point:

I have a woman relative widow in her 70s who is a typical middle class news consumer, not at all political and who voted for Clinton in the past.

She said that she watched both conventions and at the end she could not imagine a Christian who would not vote for Bush!

Amen!
