NOTE: On September 16, 2000 the first Pray for President Bush prayer thread was posted on Free Republic. Through the efforts of DittoJed2 who initiated the thread, and other faithful prayer warriors, Pray for President Bush has been a daily thread for the past four years. We invite you to join us today to thank God for His powerful answers to our prayers for our President and this great nation. May His Holy Name be praised forevermore through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Our hearts of full of joy and gratitude as we come before You this day, for we acknowledge, O Lord, that You have been faithful to answer us according to Your lovingkindness over these past four years. As we think about Your powerful responses to the petitions and longings of our hearts on behalf of our President, our spirits are quickened with gladness and bolstered by the knowledge that You hear and respond to the prayers of those who put their trust in You. We commit our ways to You, Father, and You give us the desires of our hearts. Holy, Mighty, Awesome God, Your Word is true; it does not fail. Indeed we are thankful.
Throughout these 1460 days, we have seen Your hand move in situations that appeared to the senses to be hopeless; and yet nothing is too difficult for You, O Lord. Father, we are grateful for DittoJed2, who was led by the Spirit to rally the prayer warriors during the days prior to the election of 2000. You knew, Lord, that You would need Your people to be in spiritual warfare because of the battle that would take place in the spiritual realm in Florida. O Lord, we praise You for the outcome of the election---for hearing the prayers of Your children, calling out to You for Your mercy and Your intervention. And Your hand did move mightily so that righteous leadership was restored to the office of the Presidency.
Your Word says that You, Who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Father, You continued to mold our President, for You are the potter and he, the clay. Very early in his tenure, You led him through a tedious situation in which American crewmen were held by the Chinese. You supported our President during the stressful days in which the leadership of the Senate shifted to the Democrats. You helped him initiate and eventually pass a tax cut that put money back in the hands of most Americans. And when the unthinkable happened---the terrorist attack on 9-11, O Father, You raised up for us a true leader---one who would take a stand against evil, one who showed true decisiveness, one who was not afraid to call evil, evil. You laid upon his heart the seriousness of the battle against good and evil and the very present danger that surrounded this nation. And Lord, we were confident in this man because we knew his confidence came from You. We knew You, Mighty God, were the source of his strength. You were his power and ability. You were beside him each day, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”
O Father, our minds cannot comprehend the vastness of Your greatness and the many answers to the prayers we have lifted up. We have rejoiced over the new-found freedoms now enjoyed by the Iraqi people. We have watched our President take a stand for the truths in Your Word---especially in regard to abortion, homosexuality, the importance of family and faith. We have seen him stand strong in spite of the continuous, reprehensible attacks from the American media, from political oponents, from the Hollywood left, and from ungrateful Europeans. We have seen him turn the other cheek, and rise above the fray of the ugly and conniving efforts to discredit him. And we know, Lord, that he has been able to do this because he is Your child---a New Creation---made righteous by the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. O Father, how it must please You when we submit our will to Yours---when we truly become the instruments of Your peace.
And so on this day, Father, we bow together as a band of believers, bound together with the common goal of praising You and thanking You for Who You are. Though we do not know each other’s faces, we have learned to know each other’s hearts as we have shared our prayers and prayed in agreement to You, Who have promised to be in our midst when we gather together in Your Name. May Your blessings continue to rain down upon our President, may Your shield of protection remain with our troops. May Your Spirit of joy fill the heart and home of each person who has paused here to pray, and may Your Awesome and Glorious Kingdom come, Your perfect will be done. In the Name of Jesus Christ, our King. Amen.

I must confess that I have seriously neglected being a part of these threads. Thanks for the reminder to daily join the " PrayForBush" threads. I have been praying daily for our Country and for the President, but need to spend time here with all of you great prayer warriors. Congrats on 4 wonderful years.

Thanking God today for His mercy on us in giving us George W. Bush as our President.
Thanking Him for the failure of the left in their attempt to steal the true results of the 2000 election, and take the victory away from President Bush.
Thanking Him for the thousands of miracles that occurred on 9/11, and the lesser loss of life and injury because of them.
Thanking God for the comfort He provided during those dark days.
Thanking God for the courage and faith of men like Todd Beymer on 9/11.
Thanking Him for the strength and acts of compassion showed by the police, firefighters, and the American people in our time of challenge.
Thanking God for the economic recovery following 9/11.
Thanking God that no attacks on American soil have occurred since 2001.
Thanking God for the courage of our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq and the thousands of miracles that have occurred there.
Thanking God for our freedom that continues because of their sacrifice and service.
Thanking Him for the moral courage, decency and honor of George and Laura Bush, and their leadership.
Thanking God for the steps that have been taken toward returning America to a culture of LIFE since President Bush's election.
Thanking Him that the lies and slander of the left against the President is being exposed, and that the truth about him is coming out.
Thanking God that He is still guiding this nation, and that an angel is directing this storm.
And, DittoJed2, I thank YOU for starting this thread, because it is the reason I became a part of Free Republic more than 3 years ago.
It is a BLESSING to work along with Faith and kayak in keeping this thread alive and going, and helping create a place of worship and prayer for the good people on this forum for our President, our troops, and our nation.

I remember that day 4 years ago and I know God was listening to us then and He will continue to watch over Pres. Bush.
Please Lord, lift up President Bush above those that wish to destroy him. Enlighten and comfort him and thwart his enemies. Amen
