WHERE'S THE STORY?

Does anyone besides Dan Rather and Terry McAuliffe think there is a story in the big blockbuster now threatening to bring down CBS, Dan Rather, the DNC, the Kerry campaign, and every other sleazy liberal sludge slinger?

A young George W. Bush, (eldest son of Sr. statesmen George H. Bush) may have gotten special treatment in the Guard 30 years ago, and this is “news”?

What is it about this story that is so potentially damning towards Bush, that Democrats were willing to forge documents in order to level the charge?

Only in this 2004 election, where Presidential candidate George Soros, I mean Al Kerry, I mean John Kerry has made a mockery of the entire election process, would this story even make the funny papers.

And how come there is a glaringly obvious different set of standards for “W” who has an honorable discharge from his Guard service, and the DNC’s favorite son, Bill Clinton, who wrote repeatedly how much he “loathed” the military in order to dodge his service?

How is it that Dick Cheney is a “coward” according to slander point man Tom Harkin, for requesting and receiving college deferment, but Bill Clinton was a conscientious dissenter, a genius in search of a degree?

How is Kerry’s request for deferment to study in France, any different than Cheney’s, other than Kerry’s request was denied, leaving him little choice but to serve?

What should we call John Edwards who didn’t serve at all, and whose only claim to fame is making a fortune on the misfortune of others, then buying himself a seat in the Senate only to blow that career in his first term?

Don’t Democrats realize what they are saying about all soldiers who ever wore a Guard uniform, (including those dying in battle today), when they call Bush a “champagne soldier” for serving in the Guard instead of “the real mans’ Army”? (Or Navy I guess)

And why are liberals so offended when anyone dare question the self appointed hero status of their fearful leader, but they take pleasure in impugning the character and integrity of more than 250 decorated veterans who served with Kerry?

There is a story here alright, but it isn’t the special treatment of the son of a US statesmen. Even if it were true, we have been doing this since the beginning of time, and frankly, for good reason.

The son of any Sr. statesmen presents a special kind of target to any enemy during war time. The killing or better yet, capturing of the son of a US Diplomat in war is something we have always tried to avoid. Bush didn’t have to do any military service if he didn’t want to.

So where’s the story?

Here’s the story…never before has a choice of candidate been so bad that the Party campaign strategy was to make all candidates suck as much as their guy.

Never before has a main stream news outlet been caught red handed blatantly promoting forged documents in an effort to advance their own political agenda.

The story is, we ain’t talking about Dan Bland here, star reporter for the Podunk High School paper.

The story is, Dan Rather, (today’s self proclaimed Walter Cronkite) is a joke, as is the DNC and their socialist puppet, John (I’m a hero) Kerry!

They should have let Howard Dean do his own thing. Sure, he’s a nutcase whacko, but at least he comes by it honestly…

It all comes down to desperate moves by desperate people who know that they have no real chance of winning the election. This only makes W look better and better :)

I don't think this story will do that much damage to anyone except CBS. I also think what damage it does will be limited to how CBS is subsequently viewed by their fellow journalist. That is not to say it will be no big deal to Rather. It must be killing him to open every major newspaper in the country and be told he is a shoddy journalist.

If this is tied to Bill Burkett the DNC/Kerry camp can claim to have nothing to do with it(I'm not saying they didn't...only that they can make the claim). The good news is it erodes the once mighty tower of journalism that was CBS and shows it for what it is...a big steaming tower of Bulls**t.

Much of the CBS/Rather dive is to get the Swiftboats out of the headlines. They were/are doing real damage to the DNC and kerry.
