Viewers not already familiar with the event and issue involved will just be left confused. They'll shrug and say, "whatever". Negative ads that aren't effective like this BACKFIRE. If you throw mud you must hit effectively or people think you are just smearing.
They should show the one with lots of sincere testimonials, including the guy who treated Kerry for his first purple heart. THAT is convincing, that reaches people, this does not.

Nice try newbie but that crap tain't going to fly around here. Ads using Kerry's own words against him are NOT negative. They're instructional and devastating. Ads showing him the 70's antiwar bum remind voters that there are people who hate the country. Ads showing him contradicting himself remind voters that he can't be trusted in peace...much less war. This is money VERY well spent.

This ad reminds people in Kerry's own words and actions, that he's not trustworthy. Would you want him with you in a foxhole? Because that's essentially America's position right now. We're at war, and this clown will cut and run asap.
