MAKE SURE ABSENTEE BALLOTS GET MAILED TO OUR TROOPS (You Can Help)
Sept. 21, 2004

Posted on 09/21/2004 3:50:46 PM PDT by ArmyBratproud

MAKE SURE OUR TROOPS GET TO VOTE. With word of voter fraud being an issue in this election, we need to take an active stand.

I just heard a worried father call the Sean Hannity radio show. He said his son is an overseas Marine and that the Marine has yet to recieve his absentee ballot. The father is worried, and he should be, that there is yet another effort to stop our military from voting.

I THINK THAT COUNTIES MAIL OUT THOSE BALLOTS. Which means we should all be contacting County Elections offices in our own areas around the nation.

The Marine is from Westmoreland County, PA. Just east of Pittsbugh.

Call your local county elections office today and make sure that they have been mailing out absentee ballots to military members from said county.

If you live in a county that is heavy with Dem leaders, be sure to do this. It is not beyond reasonable questioning that Democrats would work through their county people to prevent the military vote from getting through.

IF YOU ARE RELATED TO, OR KNOW OF A MILITARY MEMBER, check with that trooper and or their family to make sure that they have gotten their absentee ballot.

The military protects our freedom and our right to vote. We should protect their right to vote as well.

http://www.fvap.gov/ is the website that answers ALL your questions & has a phone number & email addr regarding Armed Forces (all branches).

Also, deployed troops can check with their battalion voting assistance officer. It's a little bit early for them to receive the absentee ballots yet, provided they requested them.

Well, you guys are quick...I heard the same conversation and
immediately called an associate of mine who has a daughter in Iraq.
I then emailed my brother-in-law, a Senior Chief and CH 53/60
driver, and asked him to contact as many people in country as he could.
My sister retired in April and still works as a civilian consultant. She served on the Briscoe. DD977
A building inspector I work with is a SeaBee in Iraq. I got the web page to him as well.

Thanks for jumping in. Semper Fi OOOORRAAAHHHHHH

I heard that father on Hannity's show today as well! I wasn't too happy with Sean's comment in closing the call.He said something to the effect that(paraphrasing): "Here's my suggestion to you - try and get to the bottom of this." Sean, the poor guy DID try and get to the botoom of this! He called Spector,Santorum and some Democratic Congressman and I believed he called the defense department.I wonder if he called or emaled CENTCOM? I wonder what more can this poor guy do? Anybody know? Thanks.

Here in Ohio they haven't even decided if Ralph Nader can be on the ballot yet.

Our local newspaper said that no absentee ballots will be mailed until Oct. 1. I don't know what dates other states begin sending.

A friend of mine, a 45 year old Navy Seal told me yesterday that he never, ever got his absentee ballot on time when he was serving overseas.

Outside of his Congressman and Senator...the only other person that he could call at the National lever would be the RNC.

Again....Election ballots are usually handled at the COUNTY LEVEL. So it would be handled at a more local level. WHICH THE DNC knows....and that is what they are counting on. They think people will automatically run to the feds and such. As jacked up as it sounds....there plenty of other contacts that have to be made before they can act.

SO....If all of us call and hound his county (Westmoreland PA)...and ours...we can get some pressure.

Also, call you Congressman..State Rep...and Fed and State Senators.

Then call your local elections administrator. It will usually be in your county's web site.
And don't let them spin ya.

Call your local talk radio guys.

Tell your deployed friends and family this very important rule that we learned during our years voting absentee.

When they finally receive that absentee ballot they MUST immediately proceed. They must carefully read the rules and be extra careful of the witnessing some require. Then they must vote and mail it back right away.

The worst thing they can do is set it aside, or debate for a long time on other matters such as tax levies or minor county officials or whatever. If they wait to vote, the ballot may become lost, or they might get distracted with their work. Any delay can hurt.

It must be mailed back ASAP. Mail can take a long time to get back to the states. Mail it ASAP.
