Authorities to Release One of Two High-Profile Iraqi Women From Jail, Justice Ministry Says

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Iraqi authorities together with U.S. forces have decided to free one of only two high-profile women prisoners currently in American custody, a ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

Spokesman Noori Abdul-Rahim Ibrahim, however, denied the decision was linked to a demand by militants who abducted two Americans and a Briton calling for the release of all female Iraqi prisoners.

"The Iraqi authorities have agreed with coalition forces to conditionally release Rihab Rashid Taha on bail", Ibrahim said. "The decision ... has nothing to do with the threat made by the kidnappers," he said.

Taha, a scientist who became known as "Dr. Germ" for helping Iraq make weapons out of anthrax, and Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash, a biotech researcher known as "Mrs. Anthrax," are the only two Iraqi women held in American custody, according to the U.S. military.

Lt. Col. Barry Johnson, a U.S. military spokesman, said he had no information about such a release.

"I do not know anything about that announcement," he said.

Johnson said a group of Iraqi male detainees had been previously scheduled to be released Wednesday from Abu Ghraib prison.

An al-Qaida-linked group led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi claimed Tuesday to have killed the second of two American hostages it kidnapped last week, saying U.S. forces had failed to meet their demands for the release of women prisoners. The claim could not be verified.

The militants are also holding a British hostage.

WTF!!!

This is absolutely insane it doesn't matter if it's related this will be taken by the vermin who beheaded the poor contractors as appeasement and reinforcement that their tactics are working. And let's be honest we all know it's related why else would it be done now... Sigh!

Somebody needs to be b!tch slapped for this monumental blunder. These animals will likely murder the Brit hostage anyways.

Not linked, eh? Sure...and Islam is a "religion of peace."

The newly-established Iraqi government isn't going to last a New York minute once we leave if they keep doing idiotic things like this.

This better be a bluff.

Or the beeyatch better be wired, infected with something, or have an internal timer set to blow her up in the midst of her pals.

It had better not be as stated in this report.

Out of their minds? I don't think so. Read between the lines. "Dr. Germ." She knows a lot, and I think she's been singing like Ella Fitzgerald. Ask the question: Released to the custody of whom?

A few probabilities come to mind on this.
Number one, she's been turned. Number two, she's been fitted with a some kind of passive beacon that she does not know about. It can be as simple as drinking a glass of water. We're playing our own game here and by releasing only one hostage, we've thrown a monkey wrench into the terrorist plans. If they kill another hostage, which is more than likely, they look even worse. If they release the hostages, They lose credibility in the muslim world because they did it on our terms.

Does she now have a tracking chip in her?

If not, why not?

Also, why don't any of the hostages have chips? Or, am I seeing too may movies?

I know they are used on a limited basis in Alzheimer patients, among others.
