He deserved a slower and more terrifying death. In the big scheme of things, between walking free and meeting his maker I'll take the latter, but I still feel cheated.
One thing I wonder about...They had good enough intelligence to know he was in the car. Would a snatch and grab not have been a more productive option (with a news release that he had been killed made a short time thereafter) so that his knowledge of the Tawid and Jihad network could be extracted by friendly Iraqi interrogators through means unemployable by the CIA?
If we had time to target the car, my money says we had time to snatch him. :)
