A fanatical activist infiltrates the MSM. No, I don't believe she's a typical representative of that class (and, frankly, what do I know), most of them with all their biases and hatreds think themselves 'professional journalists', but she's been tolerated and nourished there.

I firmly believe there is stories like this all over the MSM world...we could randomly pick a name from any evening news credits and could find some dirty work by them to try to push a political agenda. Thats not exactly what our forefathers had in mind when they envisioned flourishing free speech

"WHY ISNT EVERYONE FURIOUS? This is a breaking news story and I've just read about 35 posts with us trying to put the pieces together. You'd think Mapes was sitting on the secret for weapons grade plutonium (easier to find on the internet then the facts on THIS story.) What the hell are they hiding? This is a cover up and it goes completely to the character and credibiity of one of the main players in what is potentionally a federal crime. In fact her actions in the Prison story might have even had criminal implications in itself, and we dont have the right to know any facts?? This Prison story is NEWS and it's being covered-up. What are the prison officials (and CBS) hiding and WHY? And what ON EARTH is the Prison's stake in this game? "

I completely agree! Fox & Friends is on this, says CBS's ratings have plummeted, had Mapes former co-worker Carlson, which says Mapes is very Liberal and has an agenda against Bush (paraphrasing), but that's all I've seen !!!

Where's the outrage !!!

I agree, Live Free, Fox's "story" seems to be CBS's plummeting ratings! If they dont get over their crowing about this they're going to start seeing THEIR ratings plummet and I'll be leading the charge. They are so busy gloating over the demise of CBS news (without trying to seem so, of course, which just makes them sound even more ridiculous) that they are missing the BIG issue(s) here.

What is Mary Mape's story? And that, imo, is buried in this Prison "Thing". To me this could unearth a treasure of insight into CBS, Mapes, the whole CBS agenda, the way they pursue a story and just what kind of stories do they pursue?? Methods and means.

I love watching CBS crash but let if fall of its own gravity. There's a sympathy affect that could start to kick in if it looks like CBS is getting piled on. So if I were Fox or any of these other outfits I'd start following other lines of inquiry, LIKE the Lucy Ramiriz "story" for one? etc. etc.

Pawning it off on an "Investigative Panel" is an outrage! And the ultimate insult to the viewing public. It insures this "investigation" takes just long enough to post-date the elections, comes out so far in the future as to be entirely irrelevent and not effect ANYTHING now, and lull the viewers who they percieve as idiots (e.g. all of us) into complacently thinking, "oh goody, something is going to be done!"

We didnt fall off the turnip truck yesterday, CBS, Dick Thornberg, whoever the other guy is, Andrew Heyword OR Fox and Friends. Get your act together. This story breaks now or some intrepid Freeper should break it.

Get out your jammies, Freepers. Outrage, indeed!

It was pretty crazy stuff, NB. Of course, in a city like SF, the "menage a cinq" would probably have created juror sympathy for the defendants. Just look what they had going for them -- adultery as well as various perversions, including but not limited to animal sex. If they hadn't been self-proclaimed racists, these other attributes might have even trumped the victim's homosexuality. Even PETA and the surviving Mitchell brother might have spoken up on their behalf. < /facetiousness >

I'm not sure we should use the words 'Mapes' and 'bombshell' in the same sentence.

lol, B, you of course raise some excellent points. If my recollection serves however they recieved a change of venue to LA since the woman who was mauled was a lesbian and in SF that trumps all. All of a sudden the city of namby pamby liberal peacniks were screaming for blood. Couldnt get a fair trial. Funny how that works, isnt it?

But you're right, the Dog love thing would have gone over BIG in SF, heck it would have created a whole new constituency, a new Proposition (if you will) would have appeared on the ballot. Too bad about that pacouli (sp?) oil thing, though. That was a HUGE mistake. If only Bane had attacked a straight white republican! ;) The Nolans would have gone free! ("Well doesn't Aramis aftershave inflame EVERYONE?!") ;) (sick)

Ooh, you're right, NB. They did get a change of venue. I forgot all about that -- not that LaLa Land is all that much different from Sodom by the bay. I guess their first choice of Lake Hayden, Idaho got turned down.
