This has to be a criminal offense according to some law. I keep thinking that Rather deserves more than just to be fired, he deserves some sort of jail time, or CBS owes America something like a year off the air, then a gradual return only if they pass some review of their journalistic standards.
There are terrorists, such as Bin Laden, but they really aren't that much worse, functionally, than terrorism enablers, such as Rather. It was crooks like Rather that kept Clinton in office, which in turn led to foreign policy disaster, and then... these same crooks are blaming Bush for something they caused.
Rather will be very lucky if he gets off with mere early retirement.
