I think the U.S. government should have total discretion in determining who is or is not a risk in entering this country.

No non-citzen has any "right" to come to Amercia including this turncoat Christian.

Was he ever an American? He was born in England to a Greek and a Swede. Did he ever take out US citizenship? I don't know.

If he's not American, how can he sue to be let into the country? He has no right to entry.

Even if he was a U.S. citizen, coouldn't he be excluded from returning to the country if we perceived him as a threat?

Any lawyers out there to weigh in on this one?

Note to stevens, you're not an American anymore. You no longer enjoy the same rights we do. Get used to it.

Not clear on this: is he an American, or is he British? (I've never been a big fan, so just never bothered to find out.)

'I am a man of peace and denounce all forms of terrorism and injustice.'

In Arabic, that mean, "'I finance all forms of terrorism and injustice.'

Let him. Then we can produce the evidence.

Great reply!!

I'd luuuuv to see it!

This just might replace OJ as the trial of the century, especially after he's actually charged with a crime (which I'm sure he's committed plenty of), convicted and incarcerated.

Be careful what you wish for Cat.

. . . xenophobic, racist, intolerant hate-mongers.

That takes too long to type.

Just call me a bigot.

According to a co-worker, some cable channel this morning was claiming that he was recently invited to the White House to recieve an humanitarian award.

Anyone have any info on this or is it BS?

''We have now initiated a legal process to try and find out exactly what is going on, and to take all necessary steps to undo the injustice that I have suffered.'
An injustice, Yusef? If you were owed, but denied, unrestricted entry into the U.S. of A., that would be an injustice. Last time I looked, however, aliens are not owed unrestricted entry.

Buh-bye!

You're right. I heard many people on the radio last night say they thought it was just because "this administration is racist against Muslims" that Cat was in a jam.

His comments in 1989 concerning Salman Rushdie after the publication of Rushdie's novel The Satanic Verses provoked controversy. During this time period an Islamic fatwa (religious ruling) was issued, holding that it was an obligation of Muslims to kill Salman Rushdie. Yusuf Islam publicly stated that Rushdie was indeed guilty of blasphemy against Islam, and Rushdie deserved to be killed. This led to a public outcry, and a drop in record sales. In response to this criticism, Yusuf Islam has since clarified that he believes that a death sentence can only be carried out by the authority of a court in an Islamic society, and that he is opposed to anyone taking the law into their own hands by murdering Rushdie.

hmmm..on the other hand, islum is the religion of prisoners and the prison system. Maybe he'd like it there.

Plenty of 'his kind' to associate with.

does he even have standing to sue? And who would he sue? IIRC the US government can be sued by US citizens but it basically has to "consent" to be sued. I'm not altogether sure a non citizen can just willy nilly file a suit against the US. What court would it be heard in? And what are the damages - what "rights" have been taken away. Are there any lawyers out there? I gotta feeling that ol' yusuf is just blowing smoke here.

" Why do foreigners think they have an automatic right to come to this country? "

Maybe because millions of illegal aliens walk across the border every year .
