Why is J.C. Watts not even mentioned?

Alan Keyes?

Never again!

No one listed can bring the religious right along with them. Without them the party is doomed in '08.

Richardson scares me too. He's from the West, Hispanic(without sounding like a La Raza) type, and also pro-2nd Amendment - signing conceal carry.

And being from New Mexico, he can probably sound 'good ole boy' enough to cause fits in the Midwest as well.

I do not see Guiliani getting his ticket punched in Iowa. It takes a pro-life candidate. I hope this does not happen. The GOP will lose many, many supporters if they ever nominate a pro-abortion candidate.

Santorum could run as a genuine Catholic.

MNJohnnie,

I agree with you about turning it back over to the states but :

1) Roe will not be overturned, period.

2) But if it was, only some Southern states and Utah would outlaw abortion.

Give me the odds of 1) or 2) ever.

Why then, should the GOP waste its breath? Let's concentrate on freedom, not something that will never happen anyway. I'm not pro-choice, I'm pro-reality.

Isn't it you who imposing your views on others?

I'm very religious actually. But also very tolerant of all views. That's what the GOP is all about in my opinion.

I mentioned in a previous post that I work in politics 24/7 as a political consultant, organizer and fund raiser for the Republican Party. Most of it is local.

I was named Republican of the Year for 2004 in my county.

I do get paid but I do it as a calling not a business.

I often offer my services free of charge to socially conservative candidates, Mods pay and I won't take them on against a Conservative.

I retired at 43 (two weeks before 9/11)and have dedicated myself to political action ever since.

If you don't mind I will continue to exercise my rights as a free American to continue to work for a pro life Supreme Court and socially Conservative candidates and electeds at every level of Government.

And since you questioned what I do,what do you do for your cause besides post here?

"...and no way on Jeb. Americans will not go for a dynasty."

What exactly constitutes a "dynasty" here? Is it TWO or more members of the same family? Or THREE or more members of the same family?

If we're all so sure Americans won't go for a dynasty, then why does Hillary keep coming up when we talk about 2008? Wouldn't the election of Hillary constitute a Clinton dynasty?

Hi Dan,

Unless the GOP has 60 votes in the Senate, a pro-life judge is unlikely to ever be confirmed.

I'd rather have a strict constructionist, who goes with the status quo on Roe, then none at all.

I'm ambivalent on pro-life, pro-choice. Since it's a matter that's not going to be resolved, I'm not going to waste energy on it.

Limbaugh's separated from his third wife and currently dating. I haven't heard of his ratings plummeting in light of that.

I haven't heard him winning any elections, either.

Now there's an idea. Is he pro-life?

J.C. Watt's wasn't mentioned because he wasn't in the original post and has retired from politics.

He is very popular among Conservatives.

I love Alan and I've sent BACPAC money for years but he could not win. He's tried.

I like Jeb. Dont' know if he's interested but if he decided to run, I'd have a hard time not supporting him. He's displayed lots of guts over Terri Schiavo.

Hi Jacvin,

Work away. But it's not going to happen. Is that the only issue that's important to you?

Why waste energy on unrealistic issues?Mp< What I'm for is political action that makes the U.S. more free economically, stronger militarily and diplomatically, and a friend to our allies.

I'm very religious, but do not inject it into politics.

Dick Cheney 66

I'd vote for him in a heart beat.

LOL - I'm sure you intended to add, "no pun intended".

Right election not reelection. I am not really trying to call you on this. I was merely trying to clarify. But my point stands.

And this time I won't be nice and give you an out. Modale was appoionted to two statewide offices. He never won one himself. He was similarly appointed VP. That is why he was a terrible candidate for national office.
